With Hasbro at the helm, this is the kind of crap we're going to continue getting. Sell packs, sell packs, sell packs. Limited and Standard fodder all day long. Not a "Modern Chronicles" or anything resembling the sort. Hasbro is going to be the death of the game. They're focusing on gobbling up new players for short term gains, rather than growing a dedicated playerbase that will stick around. This is going to be like what happened to Pokemon in the early days of the card game. Huge influx of players, and then a massive crash, with a minority still supporting the game.

Yeah, I'm actually glad I'm not going to Vegas for this years modern masters. I can't imagine how they will run a 10,000 person event after being part of the chaos of a 4,500 person event back in 2013. They split the GP into 4 mini GPs if you want to call it that with each GP being 1125 people and day 2 was the 400 ish people that made 7-2 or better during day 1

Did CFB run it last time? Might make a difference.

Why does it necessarily have to "hurt" me to be concerned by it?

I was all excited to draft the set on MTGO...I can't fathom spending 30-35 tix just to get a who cares planeswalker avatar, and if you're not as lucky, about 15 tix worth of product (unless you get the entire shaft). Plus it reminds me all too much of Mirrodin block which I hated. Thanks Hasbro to shooting that idea directly in the face. I think I'll not draft this and just buy the goyf and bobs when they bottom out

I was excited to draft it all weekend long at the GP. And then after the full set was spoiled, I canceled my trip. That's how bad of a taste the set left in my mouth. I guess Wizards did me a favor by saving me over $1K.

I don't get where all the hare came from. The set is better than the first one. The only problem is that the srp is higher. Then if the retail markup is lower, it won't be a problem

If you're into buying lottery tickets to get a $100 winner, the set is for you. As far as drafting goes, it doesn't look all that fun. Either you crack a giant bomb and ride it to the win or you value draft and hope your deck is competent enough to win. idk. I'll draft it maybe once just to at least play with the cards I'll crack, but definitely not doing a weekend excursion like I had initially planned.

I think most people are drafting it 0-1 times. Apparently the supply is lower than MM1, and I can't justify doing more than one $40 draft.

This is flat out wrong. I can't find the link right now since I'm on my phone but Wizards has publicly stated that MM2's print run is higher than MM1.

From the @wizards_magic Twitter https://mobile.twitter.com/wizards_magic/status/541588223508893696"...#MTGMM2015 print runs, it IS a limited run, but higher than #MTGMMA was." It may still be harder to find. It's unknown if that statement applies to only the English run or across all languages. The GPs are probably also eating up a significant portion of the print run again.

Is there going to be side drafts for $40? I simply can't afford $75+ but I could make the trip to Vegas for a smaller draft. ~Revenger __________________ 30th in refs on Motl! #1 Ref's for Arizona! Don't know about the GP, but he might be talking about drafts at the LGS level. Only one around here has posted their release plans, which are an $80 sealed and $50 drafts. Both events are paying out MM2 as prizes. __________________ Wisconsin - smells like dairy air!I collect Granite Gargoyles. Send them my way.
