$250 based on SCG prices is not $250.

He's putting a sub $250 card in each pack and then filling the rest of the pack up with crap that nobody ever will buy, but is "high-value" on SCG. If there was more than $250 of value in each pack, why would he be selling? He's taking a $30 hit in fees on each pack he sells...

It's a scam, even if you get "$250" value in cards. He throws you a played Rav Dark Confidant he considers that $60, played misty rainforest he considers $35, then $150 worth of .50-1.00 janky rares. He met his obligation of $250 (although those 218 janky rares are really only worth .10-.15 cents each in the real world). So he really only sent you less than half of real world value. Believe if you want, maybe you open that Ancestral.

I'm sure if there actually is a legit ancestral recall in one of these packs...it'll be the last one sold.

Nah, it was the first one sold, the one that his friend bought the day the auction went live.

This is exactly what I'd expect. Still curious about the contents though.

I'll sell you any number of lots you want for $250 each and I'll guarantee $350 in value at SCG prices. I will do that up to 100 times. Duplication, Oh yes, there will be duplication. Buy 20 lots or more and one will have an Ancestral Recall in it.

I'm guessing by this whole attitude that this is your first "rodeo" so to speak. __________________ "Message to women worldwide: Girls....we're stupid. We don't like games. We don't know games. We can't read minds. Say it like you mean or STFU." -rockondonMy Sale Thread

Not at all i've bought plenty of Junk repacks for under $50, Never spent $250 on a repack before seemed interesting, An his feedback for repacks is pretty solid, Im hopeful i guess you can say, An im just not a negative person, Seems like all of you have gotten burned pretty hard to have such a input on repacks lol, Im not saying i trust them or whatever, But out of all the repacks i'd buy i feel like this would be the realest available, But who knows i could be completely wrong an get screwed over like stated above, But its a chance i took an im still excited to see whats in there

I think the issue here is, even assuming the seller is attempting to throw expensive cards into the repack, the valuation of the cards is different than his real cost. While the seller offers a small lottery chance of getting a recall among 25 people, he's making a small fortune by getting cards at cheaper than SCG, valuing the cards at SCG, and pocketing the difference. If I wanted to liquidate a ton of junk rares, promos, and stuff I don't need from my collection, I'd do something like that too. Essentially, he's netting about 5100.00 on this repack lot after shipping and fees. Even if you purchased 3000 worth of premium cards to split amongst the 25 lots (valued at SCG prices), you could probably get all of it for under 2500 in real dollars and end up with $2600 in profit and a lot less junk clogging up shoeboxes in your closet. All in all, I think you'd be better off spending the $250 on the cards you want. Edit: For some examples, I can buy an SP tundra on tcgplayer for 150, and value it at 200 because SCG has it at 200. I can buy a bayou for 130 and value it at 160. FoW 93 -> 110. You can just instantly mark cards up 20-25 percent and that's without even looking for private sellers who may give it to me cheaper than that as part of a collection.

when did i criticize anybody? An i didn't ask for advice i asked for people's views on repacks, an clearly as i stated above everybodys views are negative on the subject. I dont know why you seem to think im arguing or trying to prove repacks are a good idea? because thats not the case at all, All i've been saying was i was hopeful that these repacks won't end up being the same as everybody elses, But i do understand values to dollars SCG wise as well, However the auction states "At Least 250" theres plenty of box's with OVER $250 worth of cards inside it "So the listing claims", I dont know what to expect until the box is in my hands an im going through it seeing whats actually in there "value wise"

Better off using $250 to buy a booster box of Modern Masters 2. They aren't $250 anymore but for $200-210 at current value you'll at least pull pretty close to the value of not a bit more and then you have $40-50 to buy other things. Jus like anything else in the game if you don't care about the money and wanted to try it for fun then not really a waste by all means. I have a sealed box of coldsnap that I got for $255 recently which I plan to open later on to do an 8 man fun draft with but I know I will most likely not get the value from the box too.

I am skeptical like most here, though I see nothing wrong with how the seller is framing things, nor the fact that s/he will net a profit from this whole thing. The idea is always tempting and I am curious to see what comes out of it. Good luck .

Like I said, I'll duplicate his offer but give you $350 at SCG values. I'd still clean up. As for what to expect, expect a bunch of crap cards that are unsellable any other way, that add up to $250 by SCG prices, or in other words about 220 crap rares. lol, just noticed he's charging $12.99 or more than double US priority cost. Yeah, sounds like he's much different than the rest in that he is getting more profit than the rest from his repacks. Enjoy!

Star city asks .50 for pretty much any of their crap rares so let's just say 200 of the 220 rares are crap rares that still adds up to $100 before any of the potential $150 value from the other 20 cards. Even at $250 star city value none of the cards are guaranteed to be mint/nm.
