I don't think that cause someone uses a deck archtype that they should be accused of not being original. There's lots of ways to go with stompy afterall. just cause someone uses the idea of fatty green creatures gotten out quick with mana generation, doesn't mean that they are not original. I personally would love to have some of the great old cards (particularly duals). and before anyone says things about games using revised and beta being slow, i played a lot of type 1 and have looked at lots of the cards from those sets, and slow is not the word that comes to mind when i think of mox's and lotus. those were the days when most of the deck types came around (stompy, prison, discard, grind, Land destruction). sure some of the newer cards get abused a lot, but nothing was as abused as channell/fireball. although i will agree that certian decks seem to be dominant (rebels being #1 on the list) no deck is infallable or perfect. I will say that some decks can be played by chumps, and still win, but a truly good player using a well crafted deck, can beat anything out there.__________________ "Battle doesn't need a purpose, the battle is its own purpose. you guys seem too caught up in nostalgia to really enjoy the moment. there are several decks these days that combine newfanglt speed tricks with slow deck theory. magpie-go, sexy rector, sushi, even ponza to an extent. and check the latest E-league T8s. Dreamcrusher and Field of Dreams (two unrelated decks, so I've heard) are hella tech, but they also take thought to play. and the old days weren't all skill either. Bargain takes a lot more thought to play than your average mesacraft or Pebbles deck. and I thank god every day there is no longer turboZvi. so, before you dub magic dead, take a better look at it. it's just as fun as ever. I survived the Rath cycle on 2 levels, both with the Hatred/death/recur Tourney triangle, and junky turbo-krakilin theme decks. nowadays. T2 is fun, both on the replenish/trinity/Tinker tourney triangle, and on junky lifeline theme decks. __________________ "The Rebels couldn't tell where the roar was coming from. then they saw that it was coming from everywhere." -Flowstone Overseer Flavor Text.

i started playing magic in the best stage of cards. from weatherlight to stronghold, those were the glory days of magic. i completely agree with Eron, magic has become to fastpaced, it needs to be slowed down and be turned back into a game of skill and not speed. __________________ "The secret of life is not to do what you like, but to like what you do." There's still skill in T1 blue control You can stop those nasty early combos with Force of Will and Annul and make the long game you all want. And then the strategy kicks in. Not to say that I'm good at it. I lose lots of games. But I still have that feeling that I would have won each and every one (almost) had a made different choices about what was worth a Force of Will or Mana Drain. This is a glorious deck. Try it out.__________________ gzeiger@hotmail.com
