Last night, me and 5 friends had a 3 pack Prophecy Draft. To start off, Prophecy is amazing in draft

Every rare in the first packs were horrible-Psychic Theft, Wintermoon Mesa, Samite Sanctuary, Fickel Efreet, etc., which I obviously didn’t pick. Only good rare was my Coffin Puppets, which I passed in favor of a Shield Dancer, which is just amazing.

I began drafting blue and white, getting multiple Ribbon Snakes and Diving Griffins, which provided a solid core of beating. I also took every Trouble Healer i saw.

Second pack, I open up a Copper-Leaf, which is flying beats. My friend Joey opened a Will, but being Joey, took it because it was an avatar, even while playing R/G. The same happened with a Hope, being taken by another R/G Player. An Alexi also got opened, but didn't make it to me.

After we draft, I make my deck. I had 4 Excises and Trenching Steeds that i didn't use because i just didn't have room. They would have been useless anyway. Here's what I ended up with-

Blue
4 Ribbon Snake
3 Rhystic Deluge
3 Rethink
1 Withdraw
1 Spiketail Drake

White
3 Diving Griffin
3 Troubled Healer
2 Mine Bearer
2 Shield Dancer

Artifact
1 Copper-Leaf Angel

9 Island
9 Plains

We went 5 rounds of Swiss, everyone playing everyone else, and the one with the best record winning.

Rd. 1- Dan, the birthday boy.

Dan is playing blue, black and green. The first game is over QUICK, as he uses his first 2 turns to discard a Darba and an Alexi, and 4th turn tries to Soul Strings them out into PLAY. Dan doesn't read cards very well. Second game, I beat him decisively with flying.

1-0, 2-0

Rd. 2- Egan

Egan has not been playing very long, but he is still pretty good. I told him what card to pick half of the time, and he came out with a R/G deck with a Wrangler and multiple Rhystic Lightnings and Flameshots.

I beat him with flying while saving myself with Healers, Dancers and Bearers two games in a row, but made a couple very good plays on the way.

After tapping out from a Silt Crawler, I Withdraw his Crawler and forest with Living Terrain, sending the terrain to the grave. Later on, he Rhystic Lightnings my Shield Dancer. I pay 2. He Lightnings it again. In response it tap his creature with a Deluge 2 times, leaving him with 2 lands. Then I Rethink the second Lightning. That play kept the game from being close while I applied beats.

2-0, 4-0

Rd.3 Pete
Pete's playing Black/White. He has multiple Nakaya Shades, Fen Stalkers, and 6 Plague Fiends. plus a Bog Elemental and a Coffin Puppets. I get out a bunch of flying plus Mine Bearers and Troubled Healers. Lack of black removal in Prophecy probably helped my cause. I win 2-0

3-0, 6-0
A this point, 3 people are undefeated and none of us have played each other, so its a round robin for the championship. I'm also guaranteed free packs, because top three gets packs, but I wanted First Place

Rd. 4 Joey
Joey’s deck is weird. He uses Branded Brawlers, which I told him was very stupid afterwards. He actually decked Pete in their game, and Joey's games seem to be incredibly long. Mine are a little different.

Troubled Healer is MVP of this match. One game he had 3 Rib Cage Spiders out, which hurt. He kept taking the flying from my snakes and blocking with Zerappa Minotaur. Troubled Healer saved the Snakes many times. Eventually, I had 2 Snakes, 2 Griffins, and a Drake, which means something is gonna get through every turn, which kills him. The other game he doesn’t even set up a defense.

4-0, 8-0

Rd. 5 Michelangelo
I played against a Blue/Green deck with multiple thrives. Troubled Healer won me this game, no doubt about it. I applied Flying Beats, while he uses his double thrived Hazy Homo. The Healer saves my creatures from combat damage and eventually keeps me at 2 life for good. Second Game is the same, with me getting out a 6/6 Copperleaf to help out. I won at 1 life both games, but had a healer out both games, and hey, a win is a win.

5-0, 10-0
Pretty Good, if I do say so myself. I Get 6 packs. I open these rares, in this order- Shrouded Serpent, Forgotten Harvest, Bog Elemental, another Forgotten Harvest, Avatar of Might, Alexi. Three Best pulls- Alexi, Avatar, Chimeric Idol(Probably worth more than the other 4 rares.)

Oh well, it was all free, and I was very pleased with how I did.

Final Thought- If there is a Troubled Healer in your Prophecy Pack, take it over almost anything. They are absolutely incredible.
