Wow, this was my first pre-release event and I can say I started off with a great set. Invasion is an awesome Limited set. The gold cards are very strong, I was lucky enough to pull a FOIL Elder Dragon Legend - The Awakener, and this card played a strong part in all of my wins. The colours really work well together, for example the new Apprentices for each colour are better versions of the Mirage Guildmages. There are common Gold cards that are very strong in this format, such as Armadillo cloak, which is a cross between Spiit Link and Gaes Embrace - 1GW, I had two. Also the Zombies, which have protection from a colour, as well as being 2/2 for only two mana. I face the nasty end of the Lord of the Pit, but managed to despose of him with the great common card Explosive Growth, which, with Kicker gives +5/+5.

My record was 4-3-1, which I was very pleased with. My deck pulls were not particularly brilliant, but I managed to build a White and Green deck with a bit of Red support - based around the Dragon Legend and cards like Vigorous Charge and Sunscape Apprentice, as I said all of my wins emerged from the Awakener - who like all the Dragon Legends is a strong card in this format. Furtheremore, it was very easy to play. There are few counters and creature removal cards in the set. I alsoi saw very little Direct Damage. however, there are many cards that are out there to deal with removing permanents of certain colours, the most colour, or least colour etc. Luckily I didn't get any of these played against me. I was also lucky to pull the mind bogglingly powerful Urzas Rage - move over Searing Wind - Rage will most definitely be the new high casting cost direct damage master - uncounterable and with the massive kicker cost, unpreventable.

I had a couple of Djinn cards come up against me, but in this format they wer more or less always in their reduced state. However, I know they will make an impact in Constructed wher you have more control over permanent types.

Another cool bunch of cards are the Split cards. They look really cool and are a great idea. I had Wax and Wane, a mini Giant Growth/Disenchant - the other I saw were just as good, showing that these flexible little cards are surprisingly efficient.

I think that Invasion is a really refreshing and original set, it makes multi-coloured decks accessable and viable, it brings more fun back into the game - i didn't see any "pwer" cards which I felt were particularly abusive, but I expect some will emerge in the coming weeks and months.

Enjoy. Master Seer

Bah. Dragon Legends..LoL. I went U/W control all the way! I had quite a bit of control, and my creatures were mainly flyers, or had great abilities. I went 4-2 and lost only because of mana problems. I even screwed up when constructing my deck.

Underworld Dreams, Rith the Awakener is a 6/6 Flyer for 3RGW who enables you to create 1/1 Saproling tokens equal to the number of permanents of a colour of your choice when he damages a player - creature infestation!!

Good score Fooath and Strategest - I think you will agree the promo card was a nice touch. I really like the set so far.

heh, I had Terferi's Moat, Rout, and the XT:Gain X life or Prevent X damage. Those Mirage type wizards were awesome. Along with benalish trapper. I also used Shackles quite a bit.

I went to the pre release and got myself a couple of (in my opinion) fun cards like 2x tsabos assassin and such...

I LOVE this new set, at LAST they take multicolor for real! I loved the look of the pre release card, I want to have 4!!

did you notice that the reprint of quirion elves are SO much more good looking than the original!

the arts for this set is fantastic, I canīt wait until I get to buy a box or two in the local card shop, there are too many good cards in this set though =)

Feel free to post me your invasion cards

I had a good time at my prerelease. I went 2-2 and then had to leave. I played basically 5 colors, using cards like fertile ground, harrow, quirion sentinel, renegade elf, ect. I had a great pull of of the master thingies- Nightscape and Thornscape. Each had the best ability of the Masters, the red one- RR, tap, 2 damage to a creature. Plus if i lucked into 2 white or blue mana(my 2 colors I didn't use-no white, one B/U gold card) I could bounce creatures or give creatures pro-SOmething. The Masters are all very good. Another good limited card is Barrin's Spite. Its a Sorcery for 2BU, you choose 2 of their creatures, they choose and sac one and bounce the other. It kills one of their creatures, plus gets 2 creaures out the way for your assault. 5 colors is a very viable strategy in sealed, maybe even the best choice. Green is MVP of Invasion sealed, the mana of pretty much every succesful deck in the tourney depended on it. Also, Harrow is incredible. You are NEVER color screwed with this card in your hand. OK, thats enough outta me for a while.
