hello! this is my first time doing a tourny report so please bear with me!first off, i went to the pre-release in atlanta Ga, this pre-release was very odd because we had around 300 people there. because of all the people, we had 3 flights. each was like its own little tournament. and what surprised me the most, was the absence of top 8. in this tournament they gave prizes to the people with the best records!
5-0 = a whole box
4-0-1 = half a box
4-1 = 6 packs.
we only had 5 rounds...ick
anyway, now that you know how we did the tournament, on the report.
the begining of my day was at 6:00, we live 2 hours a away from the tournament. i get up, call lee and adam and get them up, do my stuff for the morning and i go pick them up, get some McDonalds and we are on our way. this was the first time that we werent sleepy on our way to the tournament, we played a game of scare the people in the tunnel. its quite fun and i recomend you try it. what you do is when you go through a tunnel, roll down the windows and yell as loud as you can.
we arive at the war room at 9. the first time we have never been early and the only time we have never had to sit outside and wait for it to open. anyway, we get in and sign up, they tell us to sit down at a table with blue numbers. so we do. 5 min later, we get big white envelopes containing our cards, we proceed to open our envelopes and packs and register our decks. (i had to wait for another peice of paper to register my deck cuz i got too excited and riped it along with the envelpe to shreds). we get 1 hour to register and make our decks. im soo happy cuz i get alot of good green and white. i drafted white and green. now to the games..
ROUND 1 john Mc... (i am not good with names)
playing black/Green
first game: slow, i get mana screwed and he proceeds to beat the crap out of me with a kavu chamelion.
Second game: i get out alot of good blockers and we are at a stand still. we both continuously draw land. late in the game, we both have around 10 land and niether can do anything. i draw, and guess what! its verdeltoh! my main homie. anyway, i cast it for 6 and pay 4 for the kicker and proceed to beat him with a 4/7 fatty. once he has gone to 5 and killed most of his creatures by blocking, he plays agonizing demise and kills my fatty. i proceed to kill him with my tokens and other creatures
Game 3: i get out charging troll early via quirion elves, play armadillo cloak on it and procede to beat and gain life at the same time.

Round 2: robbie elliot
green/red (looks like greens a good color)
Game 1: he gets mana screwed, wastes 1 of my creatures with the R/G double card (sorcery shock and 3/3 token thingy) i procede to beat with 2/2's and 1/1's
Game 1: he gets a loafing Giant and plays breath of deragaz and wastes all of my weenies and kills me with the giant.
Game 3: i side in the crimson acolite, he gets 2 red creatures, i get a charging toll, and a crimson acolite and procede to beat with the pro-red non-tapping regenerating troll.

round 3: forget his name, he was british though.
red/Black splashing blue for one card.
game 1: i get a few weenies out, he toasts them with breath of derigaz, he gets out a crosis the purger, i get outa stormscape apprentice and keep the dragon tapped. i get out a blurred mongoose and beat him with it. he plays another breath of deragaz putting him at 3 and me at 5... big mistake. i play canopy surge paying the kicker, killing him.
Game 2: he soulburns me for 4, gets out crosis again and kills me quickly.
Game 3: i get out verdeloth, enchant him with armadillo cloak and beat him senseless with a 6/9 trampler.

Round 4: Michael argo
Blue/red
Game 1: he gets out a zanam Djinn, uses a distorting wake, bounces all 3 of my creatures and beats me with the 3/4 flier for a turn, i play a 3 of my creatures again, big mistake, the djinn becomes a 5/6, he kills me with it.
Game 2: he gets mana screwed and i win easily
Game 3: we both have creatures out and cant do anything to each other, time is called and we end in a draw

Round 5: Sol Malka
Red/Black
Game 1: he soul burns me for 4 twice and kills me with a ghitu fire
game 2: he sould burns for 5, gets out a blazing specter, i play canopy surge killing his specter. i play a serpintine kavu and beat him.
game 3: we both go 4 turns without playing anything, he plays a creaure, i play a creature that can block it. that happend for a while until i got my charging troll, i attacked everyturn and get him low on life, he then has to block the troll and kill his creatures at the same time. he gets low on blockers and i over run him.
