But that wasn't the case, the judge had tricked us and we got to keep our sealed decks :). i built a black/red deck immediantly, and quickly turned in the decklist.
match 1:don't recall to much of these games, except we both had problems understanding a few cards.i won 2-0, crippling him land wise with suffering and plague spores
match 2:I started off with a kavu scout and put a crown of flames and scavenged weaponry on it. he got out a darigaaz, the igniter, and we started to race.i won the race by 1 turn, and 2 life.
in the 2nd game he was doing terrible for land, and i ensured he wouldn't recover with sufferings and plaguee spores.
won 2-0
match 3:i play jason, a guy from my card shop!
game 1:i tried to recover from a land screw, with no luck, as his prison barricade and llanowar knights beat on me.i never recovered, giving him game 1.
game 2:we start off in a creature stall, then he plays a treva's attendant and armadillo cloaks it.my life goes down to 3 before i finally kill it with a shivan emissary.we keep trading, me with better creatures, establishes a stall, and i play phyrexian slayer, a 2/2 flyer, and kill him with it after i crowned of flames it.it did 45 damage to him.
game 3:lots and lots of trading.our creatures eat each other, i burn, he plays, and it goes on like that until i play an ancient kavu.he draws no creatures for 4 turns, and he draws a llanowar knight, and has to chump with it to live. i kill him next turn since he has no blockers.
i'm going 3-0 and everything is looking good.
match 4:
game 1:ouch, i start beating down, but then verdeloth comes down, and when i wings of hope hits him, i quickly die.
game 2:he gets a zanam djinn on 4th turn, and starts attacking.i would have killed it on the next turn, but a explosive growth with kicker finishes me off.
him:2-0
ouch, my first loss.better win this next game...
match 5:played against a really nice guy.
game 1:he only gets out 1 creature, a sapphire leech, and i draw sufferings and cripple him land wise.i play a viscious kavu, and a scavenged weaponry on it, and draw into nothing but land afterward.i outrace him and win.
game 2:he gets out early flyers, with me stuck at 1 land, discarding cards every turn...by the time i get to land 2 i'm beyond recovery.
game 3:we had some trades, but in the end my viashino grapplers and kavus were more powerful than his blue and white critters.
me:2-1
going 4-1 so far, i got a decent chance....
match 6:the other guy is playing black and red too.
game 1: our creature wars are affected greatly by his power armor. he gets me on defense, but lots of land and 2 soul burns kill him.
game 2:power armor gives him such an effective boost, he crushs all my forces and quickly slaughters me.
game 3:we trade sooooo many creatures it's not funny.i beat him down for 8 turns with a 1/1 after all the trades. he soul burns me down to 4.he is at 7.for the 1st and only time in the tournament, i use the pain feature of the split card.making him discard another soul burn.that saved me and i bet him down to 6.we started drawing creatures, and then for the first time i drew pyre zombie. sac, return, repeat, 3 times. i win a close game.

record 5-1
if i win this next game i'll make top 8, otherwise i won't.....
match 7:i play a guy playing black red. he was in 1st palce so far with a 6-0 record.i offer a draw and he accepts.we play for fun and he would have won if we did play.the entire top 8 accepted a draw, and we all got a booster box.
this was the 1st time iv'e done so well in a big tournament.
i kinda like invasion. the games were all pretty fun, except i didn't get a big dragon like many people did.the best people would have had such an interesting game.the red/black deck i played round 7 had void,blazing specter and pyre zombie.seemed kind of rigged, but i know it wasn't.the other guy....his deck was way too powerful.a couple multi-mana sources, neo duals, 3 dragon legends, and a dueling grounds.my deck was noware as near as good as those, but i was happy with how i did anyway.
