In 1990, The Alien spy transmitted his report to his home planet galaxies away: "Earth is developing too fast... soon they will have the technology to defend themselves against our upcoming invasion"
The Alien council gathered for an Emergency meeting to discuss how to halt Earth's Development. They fed all the Data in their Super Computer, which finally came up with a solution: "in order to stop Earth's Advancement we got to create a distraction; Something that will prevent the young ones from getting an Education, something that will spoil the next generation of humanity."
Since the targets consisted of young people in their current stages of education, The aliens came up with the idea of creating addictive gaming cards, calling them:"Magic The Gathering"
The plan worked like clockwork. Soon the people on earth gave in to this brainwash. Instead of spending money on books, people spent money on the cards. Children spent time collecting cards instead of focusing on their studies. Resources that wouldve otherwise been spent on education were being spent on the cards. One of the Aliens (known as Leshrac) created this "MOTL" messageboard to spread the brainwash even further and to consume more of the humans' time.
To make sure the people never completed the collection and lose interest, The cards were created in many different languages; New expansions came out; Cards were created in foil versions. the Aliens ensured that no mortal being would be able to ever complete a collection. following the succes of those cards they even created a new kind of card to target even younger people: "Pokemon" cards.
The Alien council gathered once again to discuss the success of their plan: Earths' advancement rate had been reduced by more than 35%. They gave orders to ready their fleet for the invasion. The Fleet, consisting of 60 Starships set way the same day. In 30 years the fleet would arrive on earth. By that time humanity would be totally brainwashed by those cards, and the Aliens wouild have no problem Enslaving humanity for their purposes.
The Alien leader was sitting on the Bridge of his starship when he received a transmission from WOTC Headquarters on Earth.The transimssion read: "We are putting out a new MTG Expansion. How should we call it?"
The Alien leader smiled as he transmitted the response: "Invasion"....

Sounds like Ender's Game. You mean Leshrac is one of the co-founders of Pokemon? Oh, no! So that's the "other" board he's always talking about... __________________

Maybe WOTC stands for 'Will-power Of The Conquerors' Kewl story, but if I would believe this, I would have to disbelieve everything else I believe in now...(get it? ) Y. __________________

Ahhhhh, I knew it all along. I mean they basically gave us a hint in the new set, with the card named Probe! Were all gonna die!!
