Well theres no need to think hard, this is not a trick question. Magic cards were manufactured for one and only intent: to perform magic tricks. How they came to be used for playing and collecting purposes is a long story and should be discussed in another article.

This article will focus on several basic tricks that can be performed with magic cards. All the tricks are suited for performance in front of large audiences.

The first trick is one of my all time favorites: Rip-a-card

Materials needed: 2 smoke bombs, Volunteer from the audience, and youll have to wear a long-sleeved coat

Effect: You tear a volunteer's valuable card to pieces, yet it remains undamaged!!!

how it is done: Ask for a volunteer from the audience who has a valuable card like Black Lotus or Ancestral Recall. The volunteer hands the card over to you and than you tear it to little pieces right in front of him (here comes the trick: just before you tear the card, you slip it into your sleeve and replace it with a crappy card like a Goblin Game)
Now is the time to activate the smoke bombs. once they are activated use the confusion to find the back door and escape with the valuable card. Not only did you amaze the audience, but you've just gained a very expensive card!!!

The second trick is a spectacular one. its called The Bermuda Triangle

Materials needed: Lake, Ship, Helicopter, 20 Smoke bombs, 100,000 common and uncommon Magic cards. (This is also a good way to get rid of all the commons uncommons which are just taking room and for some reason you never throw them out)

Effect: You make a Ship Dissappear!!!! its larger than Houdini!! more amazing than Copperfield!!!

How it is done: This trick is best performed at night. Have the audience and the TV cameras focus on your ship, which is sailing on the lake. Say the Magic word "skizzikkavusquee" and at the same time activate the smoke bombs. when the smoke has dispersed, the Ship has dissappeared!!! Here is the secret: as soon as you activate the smoke bombs, a helicopter carrying 100,000 commons uncommons flies over the ship dropping the cards onto the ship. When the smoke is scattered the ship has sunk and the audience will beleive that it has disappeared! You will definetly enter the Guiness book of records for this one.

The last trick is a classic one, called Dissappearing act

Materials needed: Closet, Beautiful assistant, 100 FOIL cards

Effect: you enter a closet. The doors are closed. When the doors are open, you are gone. The doors are closed again, and when they open you have reappeared!!!

How it is done: Have your assistant open the closet and show to the audience that it is empty. Enter the closet and have your assistant close the door and spin it around mumbling magic words. while she spins it around, take out from your pockets 100 foil cards and stick them on the walls of the closet. When the closet is open, the foils will act as a mirror creating an optical illusion convincing the audience that you have disspeared! when the doors are closed again, remove the foil cards from the walls so that when the doors are openned you have reappered!!
