Hi, Recently i went to a card shop. Someone there was opening up about 10 packs of Oddesy. He was ranting about what crap that he was getting. as he was quickly sorting through his pulls, he ranted the names of the "crappy" rares that he got.

quote:
*opens pack and flips to the rare slot* YES I got Kamahl. *opens next pack* aww man, I got a Haunting Echoes. This card is so useless.

I gladly got the Echoes off him for a desolation angel. I guess he diddnt realize all the power of Haunting Echoes. The store owner has them for 4$ each in his case. He has Kamahls in there for 8$ each.

It became clear to me that neither of them check MOTL or any other discussion site about Magic. Cause than he would know that Kamahl isnt as great as it looks like.

You dont have to agree with me on anything. Powerful cards are often expressed here before it catches on at shops. If I had Cash that day, I would have bought all his echoes and ebay'd them at the end of the month. I might double my value.

Im sure its like this at the beginning of each rotation. Look at the Dragon Ledgends, If I remember correctly, They werent to big over here. but in stores, they went for almost 10 a piece.

Im not comparing these two cards, but them all in GENERAL. There may be a HUGE swapping in values. Look at Mirari. Alot of the larger posters around here dont think it is going to SOAR in value. But around at the shop, you can pick one up for only 15$

If it wasn't for MOTL, we would fall right into the crowd. We wouldnt look at Haunting Echoes the same way. We would think of Kamahl as a broken creature.

thank you for your time

I don't know if this is an article per se, but you make a decent point. Sites like this are think-tanks on Magic, in a sense.

Good point.

One aspect about MOTL I like is how the open forum format allows for fresh content every time I visit. I get frustrated at the big name sites that go days without updates.
