Magic Is a great game, one thats been around for 8 or so years, and i hope, for many years to come. Magic's had it's share of good cards, Some outstanding cards, some mediocre cards, and some cards not fit for toilet paper. Of course, all cards find themselves in decks at some point, either by a homarid toting 8 year old, or maybe a 9 year old with Atogs. 4 years later, i'm still here with a bunch of homarids and an atog collection rivaled only by the peeps at Inquest Game magazine. I really don't know about atog lord, he probably has a lot, but heres a list of my atogs:
70 BB Atogs
127 WB atogs
63 Foratog
33 Necratog
28 Auratog
43 Chronatog
14 Sacratog
16 Lithatog
13 Thaumatog
9 Phantatog
7 Psychatog
5 Atogatog(the Big CHeese!)
Yes, In a period of 5 years, atogs are what i have, and when i just started playing magic, i traded a mox ruby for a whole bunch of BB atogs. I'd have to say that that was an unfair trade, but we all make bad ones.
There are many types of magic people, the Tournament Monsters (Finkel, Budde, Van de Logt) the People in between that just go to Fri. Night magic every so often or never, and the newer people learning the wonderful game. and then the special breed: The Collectors.
COllecting is a great way to show off, or maybe just to make some use of those dwarven ponies or goblin festivals. SOme people collect sets, A certain creature type, Etc.
some collect Lightning bolts, others Blinding lights, even Kavu maulers,
(That's for you trevor) the list goes on.
atogs are a special creature type, a very small and unused type, unlike elves or merfolk. Kobolds, Faeries, Goats, heck even "Giant Fish" got the shaft in favor of druids, unicorns, dwarves and the like.
Atogs are quite unique, as there is no creature quite like it, i mean, they got elves, dwarves and all the numerous creature types from other role playing games
like D&D or everquest, Ultima, blah blah.
Atogs were never in those, they're poster children of magic, like Homarids or
Old Man of the sea. (Nevermind, Scratch that last one)
Collecting is a great way to have even more fun with your CCG. It's true, not just in magic, but in other CCG's, people actually collect Psyducks(Oh Young Brother, when will you stop saying Psyduck...) Anyways, I'm really glad atogs are back, and i hope You'll find a card you have no use for, and turn it into a collection. It won't hurt if you collect Mountain goats, at least they're not real, a real one rammed my cousin in the beehind...
Once again, have fun and be creative!!!
