Well I guess I can't keep my deck a secret anymore. After winning the JSS I figure everyone will hear about it and so I might as well tell you all myself. This has got to be the best deck in Type 2 nothing seems to match up to it right and it's completely unexpected. Ok now some people feel the need to stick to the 60 card minimum but in higher levels this is very stupid. Think about how many good cards you can get in the deck if you play 80-90 cards in your deck instead of the average 60. Plus you can play almost anything if you play the right lands. So here's the deck list... I'll tell you about the JSS a little afterwards.
(Land-36)

4 Caves of Koilos
4 Sulfurus Springs
4 Shivan Reef

4 Junk Golem
4 Ceta Volver
4 Nantuko Mentor
4 Stalking Assassin
4 Daring Apprentice
4 Tsabo Tavoc
4 Atogatog
4 Fungal Shambler
Spells (24)
4 Beast Attack
4 Breaking Wave
4 Purify
4 Bedlam
4 False Dawn
4 Volley of Bolders
As you can see I already have the advantage because I'm never going to get mana screwed and i have 92 cards in my deck. Now some of my opponents may have given me weird looks being young and ignorant but I made it clear my deck was superior. First I'm going to go over card for card analysis. Not the lands because that was the easy part.
Junk Golem- This guy hits the board turn four no matter what kinda mana you've got. Not to mention the fact that you can give him +7 +7 if you have a full hand! Almost too good...
Ceta Volver- The best of the volvers... blue always gets the good picks.
Nantuko Mentor- Getting the creatures to big sizes is probably the best part of this deck.
Stalking Assassin- Get more then one of these out and the card advantage is amazing... you haven't felt the power until you've tried it.
Daring Apprentice- A creature AND a counterspell... he's too good.
Tsabo Tavoc- With Gerrard and Kahmal running around you've got to keep them in check... just watch their faces as this guy gets played.
Atogatog- I don't play any atogs in this deck but if you get 2 or 3 of these out then you can sac them to the other ones making for a huge atog.
Fungal Shabler- Trample, when it deals damage they discard AND you draw... better then infiltrator and way better then specters this guy is huge.
Beast attack- This guy is a little hard to cast because of the three green but just take a little pain from the Tarnished Citadels and you've got a 4-4 on your side... you can cast him twice too.
Breaking Wave- This card saved me so many times... play it as an instant tapping all their stuff and then attack... that'd be game.
Purify- Who doesn't play purify? It beats opposition and ensnaring bridge.
Bedlam- Cratures can't block and you've got huge creatures... who's gonna win now?
False Dawn- It helps you cast those hard to get in play spells and it allows you to draw a card too... perfect for this deck.
Volley of Boulders- It's practically a board clearer and with your lands you can flash it back with no problems at all.
Well ok here come the match ups and you better believe some of this stuff was almost too easy. Here's how the tournament went.
Round 1- Liquid Tempo
No problem really... I got two stalking assassins out and started working them.. Did I mention this deck is good enough that I don't even sideboard? Next game was just as easy I took 9 by casting Beast attack with 3 tarnished citadels and took 9 more flashing it back. Sure I was at 2 but their rages were going towards my creatures and I won quickly.
Round 2- Draino
Yeah right... i cast two volley of boulders and cleared the board. Beat down with my Junk Golem and Cetavolver ended this game. Next game was just all Atogatogs I got three on the board and it ended 2 turns later. People should really learn to make better decks.
Round 3- Psychatog
This guy was obviously playing 60 cards just like the others. What were they thinking?!? Oh well... easy again. I combined tsabo tavoc and nantuko disciple and that was that.
Game 2 went a little harder but not much. They were going way too deep in their 60 card deck with infiltrator and i just stalled them out casting volley of boulders. They decked themselves with fact or fictions.
Round 4- Balancing Tings
Wow this deck could've been pretty tough with the terravores but why do they feel they need to balancing tings first? I countered 2 spells with my daring apprentices and won with a fungal shambler and ceta volver. Game 2 I draw a god hand with the yet to be seen breaking wave and bedlam. False dawn gave me the mana and the card i drew was none other then Tsabo Tavoc which also won me the game 4 turns later.
Round 5- Finkula
Finkels are too easy for my deck because of the Junk Golems I just sat back and watched that infiltrator do nothing. They meddling maged my nantuko disciple which hurt a lot but i finally got my fungal shambler in. Next game was a lot quicker I cast volley of bolders on them in the early game and it was none other then Atogatog who finished the game.
Top 8! Yeah... big surprise. I still can't believe everyone in the top 8 is playing only 60 cards, except for one other opponent. My deck will teach them... ironically everyone i played made it to top 8. (How'd that happen? Some of those deck were horrible... oh well.)
Quarterfinals- Well ok i'm playing the 8th seed which also happens to be balancing tings again. I still can't believe he's waiting to cast balancing act and quickly beat him with a game ending breaking wave with an Atogatog and Nantuko disciple out.
Semifinals- I'm playing against a counter burn deck which is also playing 60 cards (?)
Pretty easy stuff... they don't have a response to fungal shambler after countering and burning the rest of my creatures. Game 2 is pretty much the same but this time it's tsabo tavoc... 7/4 first strike's were definitely worth it.
Finals- Finally a deck that found the card advantage... the only deck that beat me a game in all of my match ups and this one was close. Battle of Wits... First game I thought I was doing well because my nantuko disciple came in and i was just about to cast the ceta volver when, after many card drawing spells, they actually cast battle of wits. Now this is when I was really nervous... no sideboard. Oh well, I'll tough it out and game 2 saw no battle of wits and I won with my Atogatog. Game 3 the game is going slow do to his countermagic but I finally sneak through a Cetavolver with both kickers and start swinging but two turns before he's dead he tainted pacts to get the battle of wits and casts it I had no response and then draw no response I'm about to concede when I decide to check the number of cards in his deck just in case... it's 198! That'll teach him... I hit him a couple more times with the volver and that's game.
So I won some cool stuff and I did about as well as I thought I would... good thing Battle of Wits is so unpredictable that's why you can't stay with the 60 card limit but shouldn't go too far above either. Well that's my article it was a great time and all of my opponents were really nice. Even though most of them asked for the amount of cards in my deck (probably trying to see how many cards they should play). Well that's it, if you have any questions about playing the deck please ask.
