and some of us have pretty much never left... what's wrong with us... ugh..oh.. and cerb... got there uh.. 3 yrs ago.. =/

One decade has already passed by on some, I certainly will not be looking forward to it. Nevertheless, it's great to see mottle still as active as ever! Well, maybe not 'as ever', but still kickin'.

Approaching 9 years here - amazing to think of the events that have happened in my life since joining motl - when I joined I was just about to quit magic (hence why I only have 4 refs  ) but for some reason stuck around in GD to post stupid comments and bad jokes.Glad to see the community still thriving! Who can remember the following controversies/major events? Kworb being banned
The furore over popup ads on the site

Trnothr (very sad)
Closing of the articles forum
That time when MOTL went down for like 2 weeks + lots lots more I'm sure

I remember all of that, and then some. At some point, this forum was a kind of a lifeline to me, really, and I spent way too much time here. Now I miss a lot of people and the things as how they were :/__________________

Well, I can at least answer something about 'Banger. Last I recall he was getting married (I'm pretty sure it was to Serrabangerbanger (now who remember's THAT one?)  ) and trying to be respectable.  I never really knew Serra Angel, I hope she's doing well though. As for Han. I wish I did know what happened to him, despite all the stuff that happened, when I first joined Han was a great friend and awesome to talk to. Thanks,

Banger was the closet in refs to me in az. He quit magic altogeather? I should give him my condolences errr I mean congrats on his wedding. I dont think han is dead. Just is never on motl or will return again. ~Revenger __________________

Why did Han leave*? Why was his Mod status taken* from him.
EDIT, why will he never return again as well?
*I use the words leave and taken b/c I don't know the story and believe these word to best suit my question.

On the subject of Han, he lived with his wife in Colorado and due to some issues they split up. He wasnt very happy but moved to California. He was always into casual drugs but after the split it sort of escalated. Last time I talked to him it was getting pretty bad. He was bored and signed up for some classes at a local college for whatever reason, regularly was getting messed up and going to the zoo. That really seemed to be his favorite activity. We talked a lot, he also was pretty tight with former member and one of my best friends Moontechna. One night he was really excited because acquired a ton of something or other and was going to take a lot of it. Thats the last I ever heard of him. That's the reason Im almost positive hes dead. We talked every day. Hes either dead or in jail.

No clue as to why han left, perhaps his depression over his marriage breaking up contributed. I can answer why his Mod status was taken away. It was taken away cause he left.  IIRC, some odd months after he left, Leshie sent out a "Whatever mods are around, please respond to this or you will be taken off" type of email and he didn't respond. @Master: I really, really hope you're wrong about him.  I wonder if there's a way to find out. Thanks,

Not that I remember the user because I wasn't on GD or MD at the time but what happened to Trnothr and why is it sad?

I actually still have some of Trnothr's final conversations with an old MOTL regular, TheMagicDude. You could tell he was troubled, but never really gave the impression he was going to take it to that level. He was by far one of the most unique people we've ever had here on MOTL, I could only imagine what kind of person he was in real life. It's a shame he's not around anymore.
