A few days ago I received a payment from a MOTL member. They sent payment via paypal personal gift, and foolishly included "MTG CARDS" in both the subject and note section. Now, paypal has put a hold on the payment and wants the issue to be resolved. Does anyone have any experience on how to best go about resolving this?

1. What do you mean by "resolved?" 2. Can you post the paypal email? 3. Did the buyer also get an email from paypal? 4. How much was the payment for? __________________ Ebay problems? File a claim, leave a neg, buy on MOTL.I'm looking for an Italian foil and Italian nonfoil Broodstar.

The money has been put on hold. Paypal mailed both of us asking detailed information about the paypal payment. Paypal is strongly suggesting it was a transaction for goods, and I feel they are just wanting us to admit it so they can take money.

2. Can you post the paypal email?
To protect you from problematic transactions, we sometimes request additional information about PayPal payments. We need more information about this transaction. Please log in to your PayPal account, click the "Resolution Center"tab, and provide more information by 5/19/2011. We recommend that you not ship the item until our investigation is complete. If you've already shipped the item, please log in and let us know where you shipped it. We have placed a temporary hold on the funds until we complete our investigation.

That's ugly. Do you have tracking? Did the buyer get an email from paypal? If so, what did they say?At this point, getting hit with fees isn't the worst-case scenario; the worst-case is that they lock your account and ask for infinite amounts of personal information so they can verify that you're not a scammer or something. Whatever you do, I suggest that you comply with everything they ask, and if you have a bunch of money in the account you may want to withdraw it. __________________ Ebay problems? This is the perfect example of why people shouldn't take personal payments on PayPal!I absolutely second 'Slinga's advice on taking your other $ out! Perhaps there is a way to cancel the transaction? Although, I doubt it. Sorry man, you're gonna have to jump through a lot of hoops now =(
