Yep i do. Drana's my effin' sweetheart and pet deck because i obsess over MTG vamps. I also have Thraximundar sacrificy zombie stuff, Zuberi Golden Feather griffin tribal (and until it's more fleshed out with griffins i call it "Griffins!... And kors and cats.") with an enchantment theme, and last but not least Sharuum the Hegemon. I'm not big on pizza. It's delicious when i'm really hungry but mostly i would rather avoid it. There is some garlic cheese pizza i'm really fond of though. I also like it with any and eveyr kind of meat but i hate vegetables. Except peppers. I don't particularly like all of your jokes, most of them actually. But when you're being helpful (and accurate) you're not bad. I don't consider myself to like or really dislike people in general though. It's mostly a 'meh' feeling. quote: Originally posted by sdematt: Do you have any Beta duals? Do you like Beta duals? Nope, but i wish. Mostly for the value really. I don't like the way beta cards look. And to date the only beta card i've ever had is a Pestilence. Actually, aside from a Mox Jet sitting at my LGS, it's the only one of two i've seen in person. I certainly like beta duals over unl/rev ones though if that means anything. Sorry to disappoint. But if i come across any i know who to look up! quote: Originally posted by ogre: Favorite food? Ten favorite movies? When did you get into Magic cards and who/how did you get involved? Yogurt. It's not a solid or a liquid really, and i'm kind of bored and unimpressed with solid food and drinks so that makes yogurt pretty cool. I really wish i could just live off that. It would be fantastic if the future didn't include food culture but vitamin and nutrient infused yogurt. It is to me like an evolved state of getting nutrients since i am not one for food culture and a scientific boring substitute would just be perfect for me. I love strawberry-banana Yoplait. quote: Originally posted by pugowar: Do you have any Planeshift Lair Lands? Do you like Planeshift Lair Lands? Explain. -Tim
Hahaha. I have none but would like to get them all. I used to have Dromar's Cavern and thought it was amazingly stupid. I play EDH mostly now and it sounds great. quote: Originally posted by mattw: How many small and/or large forest creatures have you killed this year? (assuming you are a hunter)
And i shouldn't answer that if i'm not a hunter?? I am averse to killing and hunting after a couple defining childhood moments. I believe i may have killed 2 animals on purpose in my life total (excluding maybe another 2-3 that were wounded beyond saving). quote: Originally posted by Myy: did you get my Proxies yet? did you like them?
Yes! I have had them for maybe almost 2 weeks now. I thought i had messaged you to let you know i got them, sorry. In terms of art/flavor/function all around, Drana and Master Transmuter. Good god i am so in love with both of those women. They are both amazinggggg as cards because i love vampires and black, and i love blue and artifacts and transmuting. The art just makes them both over the top. I have 35ish Drana now and 5 Transmuter! Someone send me more Dranaaaa. In terms of raw power, Black Lotus, no matter how cliche that might be. I look up to the card in a strange way that reminds me of how powerful i want to be someday. And i love artifacts and all MTG lotus related things and the 'any color' effect from artifacts. Gilded Lotus in particular is nice. Sol Ring registers way up there as well, with most any artifact mana. I can't really pick one card :s Oh, put Progenitals up there as well. I love blue and artifacts the most if in tandem. The two most broken colors with the most fanciful power and amazing unique effects... Mmmm. Only in tandem though, that artifact theme. Mono blue is a bit of a bore, if powerful. I pretty much love any robot/construct/android/golem/clockwork being. I play a strange Natural Order-Progenitus deck that actually includes plenty of elves to win without ever getting Progenitus. There 3 summoning traps, 3 green sun's zenith, and 2 geneis wave, and enough elves to jump to 8-20 mana on turn 3. The beaters, aside from progenitus, include a small toolbox of creatures to tutor whenever. It's just for fun since no one around here plays legacy with me. I also play a vintage tinker deck for fun. It's also got a toolbox of unnecessary creatures - Darksteel Colossus, Inkwell Leviathan, Wurmcoil Engine, Sundering Titan. Plus 4 Master Transmuter, 3 Shield Sphere, a few Lodestone Golem. Generates big mana for x draw spells. It's really cool. I also love my legacified B/R Vamps, and my Drana EDH because i love vampires and vampire functioning cards (drain life). Legacy or EDH. Standard is somewhat dull, i kinda only played just because everyone around plays it. That's the only way to play with other people. I've never played Extended, it just sounds to me like a more powerful version of standard, which is to say it sounds like a more espensive way to not very much fun at all. So most everything i built was Legacy, where you can any set. Which makes the most sense to me. I probably wouldn't play it in tournaments, that seems way too expensive to me and i don't wanna burn/dredge/affinity or anything else 'cheap'. Then i found EDH, which is just fantastic. I have always come up with my own 'formats' i tried to get people to try with me. Such things in styles of cube and archenemy and type 4 and EDH even. So it's sort of like i finally found a unique format to suit my 'creative' tastes. Dies. I hate that new wording they are doing with M12. Also i hate M10, M11, and M12. Go back to roman numerals, those were the best. This M1X symbol is CRAP. It's horribly ugly and i never play M1X cards if i can get it from a different set. Oh and don't ever do what was done with the symbol for 9th edition - an ugly ripoff of 8th (which was also ugly). And start printing more enemy colored lands. And don't allow fetchlands in EDH decks that aren't of the general's colors (like playing Marsh Flats in a Grixis deck). For someone who plays it as a creative, casual, THEMED format, that stuff really irks me. /rant quote: Originally posted by JoshSherman: Who have you received cards for your cube from?
I am assuming you mean the proxies, since i've never really talked about my cube. And they weren't for my cube, they are going in EDH! (I actually don't play cube anymore). So far it's you, Myy, and Yakusoku but i am waiting on one from Skwirlnutz and possibly WCFmo soon. quote: Originally posted by Bugger: 1) What are your top 3 favorite films, and why? 2) What are your top 3 favorite artists/musicians/bands, and why? 3) What are your top 3 favorite books, and why? 4) What are your top 3 favorite TV shows, and why? 5) Why vampires?
That's hard to answer without listing off 20 things. I can never pick one thing over another because i sort of like everything equally. I love Sunshine. It reminds of being human. And i love space, it is probably one of the only things that moves to tears (aside from being reminded of humanity.) It really was an astonishing film, and i was particularly awed by the captain of the original Iccarus (for those who know what that means). I cry every time i watch it, nearly the whole way through. Sublime is another favorite i could not go without mentioning. It fantastically well done, with an amazing soundtrack (which is mostly George's wife, she is a singer IRL and was asked to make some music for the film), and amazing characters. It is another movie that reminds of my lost humanity, and there is something about (spoiler alert)......... people jumping to their deaths that just gets me. I cry every time that happens, i suspect my consciousness knows that is the way i will die someday. (end spoiler.) How to Train Your Dragon was absolutely phenomenal. I love dragons, i love the essence of youthful adventure, and i love Brigid although i'm probably too old to say that. I think, who knows how old she is. But the entire movie is great, the dragons are great, the story is great, vikings are great, them changing their minds about how 'evil' dragons are. Everything. Have to mention Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind, The Science of Sleep, The Chumscrubber, Push, Donnie Darko, Sucker Punch, Martyrs, Battle Royale, Death Bell, SLC Punk, Wristcutters: A Love Story, Scott Pilgrim, Vanilla Sky. This is just going to be hard to answer as well. I don't usually listen to music. I am particular on what i like. Even though i like a somewhat wide variety of genres, i'm picky about what i think is actually good in that category. I think my tops are: Crystal Castles, so delightful. Perfectly strange and experimental and unique, it just sounds great to me. From Autumn to Ashes is reat because of the dynamic vocals, the wide variety of acoustic music to very hardcore, and the splendid manner in which they can do both in one song. The lyrics are good too. Korn is a very unique band with very unique styling to the vocals. I have probably been listening to them since 7th grade. Most everything of theirs is great but i am fond of the ambient backgrounds in some of their stuff, moreso over the regular. Have to mention Emilie Autumn, Nightwish, Combichrist, Siny Toy Guns, M83, Sigur Ros as well. All of those basically tie for my tops. I don't read very much, even though i know i should. I love Terry Goodkind's whole Sword of Truth series. So amazing, and it's no wonder why it was held in high enough esteem to have such a large first printing and tv show. Too bad the tv show sucked. But this series covers everything i envision for my story. Every emotion every kind of situation, it's just all so great. And Richard rides a dragon, which he perfectly captured as 'amazing' through making it so rare and near impossible to do. Salvatore's series about Drizzt. Because i love Drizzt and all the amazing things he goes through and all the kind of very varied places he goes and people he meets. Those are really great books, even if Bruenor and Regis are anoying. And i don't know what else to put here. I didn't read nearly half the famous books you are supposed to in high school, but i do remember Flowers for Algernon out of the rest. I sort of think of books to mean 'stories on paper' or i would say Carlin's Brain Droppings. Dexter. It's very complex and well thought out and interesting and tense. Without trying to sound like someone who thinks he's cool and badass, Dexter reminds me of myself and my life. Spartacus was cool, i love most anything medieval flavored. Good story (i will just say that about anything i like), great graphical style, awesome combat. Scrubs is funny. Fits my style very well. I watch a lot of science stuff, Oddities, Mythbusters, Bleach, Family Guy. MTG vampires are really awesome. Zendikar made them cool again. I've always liked vampires but crappy television and crappy children and crappy writers kind of ruined it and there was no good way for me enjoy them. I am obsessed with the idea of living for an eternity, i legimately intend on living forever if i find a way. Blood is cool, murder is cool. Hmmm. Feeding off your opponent to be stronger is probably the most badass thing you could do. I could be a vampire. I've got a thing for pale girls who want my blood.

Thematically most anything morbid is my style. But just because something is 'cool' to me doesn't necessarily mean it's alright to go through with in real life. Thinking very fondly on the macabre (specificaly when we were talking about the murder vampires commit to survive) doesn't mean i will go out and kill animals for fun, or people. If it was the cost of eternal life then that price would be paid dilligently, but in this life and reality any killing i do would be entirely for fun, and it just doesn't sound like fun. Kaalia? I would love to. I'm really interested in building a deck around her but i can't say i've actually tried too hard to do that yet. When she goes down i will definitely take any copies i can get but for now i don't even have time to build the deck. She is pretty sexy though. Will post scans of proxies when i get time, Myy.

Here you go: 1. What one piece of advice would you like to share with others to help them be more successful or be happier? 2. What failure in your life have you experienced that you feel is important to have lived through to help you grow? 3. What would you like to do right now that is just outside of your reach because of one thing (money, people, other resources)? 4. Some questions i would expect to come up but haven't (i would come up with more creative ones but i don't know to pick random things about myself i'd like to share): What video games do you like/are your favorites? I like rpgs mostly. Final Fantasy, Chrono Cross/Trigger and the sort. Legend of Zelda is one of my favorite series although i don't really play many games anymore. I may have played 3 or 4 zelda games in my life. Legend of Dragoon is probably my all time favorite for rpgs, Smash Bros BRawl is my favorite of all time in general, Borderlands is one of my absolute favorites. Drakan: The Ancient's Gates was actually pretty good to me too. What pets do you have? I'm just asking this one because i want to mention my darling ratties. About a year ago i got a chubby little guy who is timid and sweet (for a rat, they aren't very cuddly). He is now big and fat. He gets nervous about new people and diarrheas all over them and spends a lot of begging to be let out of his cage although once open he's too scared to go anywhere. He will try when he's already out of his cage but if he gets scared he comes running and hides under my leg. For my birthday i got a baby girl rat and i was going to eventually breed them, but she is too young right now. Well not too young but too small. She is very adventurous and will go exploring anywhere. She literally 'taught' the big fat rat to crawl up the cage and get into the bookshelves. He never woulda done that until he followed her. SHe is also in love with him and basically tries to rape him and always be around him. He is probably gay though, he just avoids her like the plague when he can and if she gets too annoying he pins her down and makes her cry. She's not affectionate and would rather explore. I've also got a bantam chicken and a chinchilla but they don't have very particular personalities and i don't like them as much as rats. Heh. What is your level of education? That might have been asked to someeone actually but i don't remember now. I have my high school diploma and that's it. I graduated early despite failing several classes and (literally) having 3 different 'study hall' classes. I haven't received any formal schooling after that. quote: Originally posted by yakusoku: Here you go: 1. I'm not successful or happy. I'm the last person to give advice because i don't truly understand the effects of such advice. I could repeat other people. Quotations and television, i guess. Don't ever let your fears stand in your way. Have i grown from any of my failures? Probably not yet. I like to think that i am trying. I failed as a lover... twice, with the same girl across 7 years. I've loved her all of my adult life. She was my high school sweetheart when i was 15 and even though i tend not to think of highly of anyone's HS romance as important, i really loved this girl. Shortly after we broke up she moved 1500 miles away and we didn't speak for years. I never stopped loving her, and one day, about 4 years later we were catching up. Quickly one thing lead to another and she broke up with her boyfriend out there and we started dating. We visited a couple times but once she graduated she moved back to be with me and we lived with her father for about a year. Things were great until i cheated on her. 3 times. I could never be strong enough for the one person i truly loved, or anyone for that matter. This was a year and a half ago and i'm still not over it. I'm moving as far away as possible from her, actually. We are right now friends again but once i leave i don't know if i will continue to talk to her. I know that i won't stop loving her and would never truly move on, but this experience has moved me to become a stronger person. What that means is probably different that what others think of as strong. One part of that is to be more in control of myself and not be such a ****up, basically. I've been in love with her for years and it will never end. I know she still loves me too but i have put her through too much bad **** that we will never be together again. But i still must become a strong enough person for her, the kind of person i should have been, for myself now. Well now after talking about that all i am reminded of how much i would just like to be in the company of that girl. I'm not sure what i'd like to do, i could come up with many things i want to do but not one in particular over another. I would really, really like to build my Kaalia EDH and infect Damia Sage of Stone, but i am limited both by time and by money. I know that's very basic and i could have come up with something else, something more extravagant that is fanciful and clearly a long term plan. But those two decks literally are a long term plan for me now and that's all i could think of :s I don't really know. More girls probably. And no filters. Stop censoring me goddammit. That's very difficult to answer. I can only compare what i'm good at to the limited circles of people i've met. I am better than anyone else i know at magic and smash brothers but that doesn't mean anything. I excel at most things i actually attempt to do but i don't have any one thing out of those i am better at than the rest. I'm the best at ruining my life. quote: Originally posted by LA3: 1 Do you have any other hobbies beside magic? 2 Whats the one thing you would take back and do over again and why? 3 Are you a sports fan at all
Hobbies come and go in phases for me. When i find a new one i go at it like crazy until i just burn myself out of it. Right now magic is my only hobby. I also collect bones and other bits of animal remains. I have a particular fondness for explosives and fireworks and know a decent bit about them. I love zombies and started a zombie survival guide (one that is designed as if zombies became a reality and fanciful imagining for entertainment). I typically feel i would not take back anything. It would be dishonest, sort of a lie. It would completely undo whole periods of time and change reality forever. It would be an awesome power but completely 'erasing' something i had done from REALITY would be like death. Nope. quote: Originally posted by JoshSherman: What is the origin of your handle?
That's hard to answer. I consider it my real name. My real name doesn't have to be the one that someone else invented for me and put on paper before i could decide myself. This one just came to me and i really don't know how or when this was. I have been going by it for i guess 8-9 years? I used to consider it a magical name, or a spiritual one. I've never believed in magic or spirits but that seemed at the time when i studied magic and mysticism. It is basically a real name that came from deep inside my subconscious, my real name. I typically only write it as Sovarius but the full name is Ik-Kor Sovarius Soleil (which is not pronounced french for sun, but So Leel). That's a bit harder to explain so i won't even try. Sovarius is the name of the main character in a story i've been working on for years as well. As the character is basically me and my ideals and subconscious so we have the same name.

See above for my answer about yogurt. Sublime, Sunshine, Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind, Donnie Darko, How to Train Your Dragon, Up, Scott Pilgrim, Science of Sleep, Martyrsm etc. I basically listed 10 up from my first post. When ice age was relatively new i was walking through town with my father. We saw a card shop and went on in and i ended up buying a pack. Grizzly Bears and Scaled Wurm were the most powerful cards ever and i was awestruck. I didn't play again until Urza's Block, i only played a bit. Then not again until Onslaught, Mirrodin, Ravnica, Planar Chaos and Future Sight, those were the first times i played for a long time and seriously. Then M11 and here we are. All the on and off times i was never that serious into but now i am. I can't answer either of those questions really. I don't know much about politics or how to fix them. I used to big into it when i was opinionated but i am not that worried about human affairs. That probably comes off very elitist and arrogant and pretentious and a million other bad things but i really just don't care anymore what out government does. It would have to impact my life in a very big way before i cared and yes i admit at that point it would just be out of self-preservation. I don't think humans will ever regulate themselves properly. Not as a person or as a group. Even the best governments are inherently flawed to me.
