I've recently thought about expanding my collection to cover complete sets and was trying to find some good albums to hold the sets.I'm trying to avoid 3 ring binders because if stored improperly/thing accidentally falls, we could have cards with binder dents in them. I've found several card albums without the 3 rings such as the ones on dacardworld and ultrapro, but these albums only have 10x 9 pocket pages. Are there any albums out there that would allow me to hold a full 350+ card set yet not have rings? I don't mind putting the cards back to pack in pages, but 10 pages in an album definitely doesn't cut it. Thanks in advance!!!

There used to be years ago really thick 9 pocket pages that would protect the cards from binder dings because they were made triple thick. Im not sure is this is the link to them or now. I have some made by a few different companys before ultra pro bought the rights to them. Im not sure if ultra pro bought them out so they could stop production of them or what. Anyways here goes. Edit: link not wanting to work. search ebay for 9 pocket pages. theyre black double sided.
The other thing you may want to consider is putting them in binders and then proctecting them by layering something over the pages to where they arent exposed to the rings as much. like a cover sheet or so.

I do believe these are the best, but not really sure as I have never owned one. Maybe someone here can vouch for them? They are expensive but if the collections are worth a ton then it would be a wise investment.http://www.safepub.com/sections/trading-cards-supplies/collecto-albums/p/collecto-standard-ringbinder-navy-blue

I've got THIS Ultra-Pro Pro Binder, though if it was available at my LGS at the time I would have gone with THIS version for the padded leatherette cover. Just a quality feel thing for me.There's a similar one from Monster but when I was looking for mine there were a couple posts mentioning the cards getting a vinylish smell to them so I went with the Ultra Pro version. There's no rings for dents, the pockets are side loading with the slots on the edges turned away from the outside so the cards won't accidentally slip out, there's 20 pages in mine front and back so it holds up to 360 cards, and I've had no problems fitting double sleeved cards into them (perfect fit into Ultra-Pro sleeve into the pocket).

Yep, these. The 'Leatherette' versions are a little spendy, and I've had to shop around to find places that still had stock left at times, but these are real nice if you can get them.

O wow nice find! I've seen the leather one around but could never find it online. Not many people want to pay the extra to get the better binder, but binder dents ruin collections =/Thanks guys!!

I also use that one. It's good, although after months of shuffling cards in and out of it for sales, the pages are stretching a bit and cards are slipping out.

Yeah, I could see how that would happen. I use mine for a set collection so there isn't much card traffic in and out. Once it's in, it usually stays there.

Do you put your cards in naked or in sleeves before putting them into the binder? I used ot put them in naked and had a lot of slippage, but once I started sleeving them up I haven't had any issues. BTW, these binders are really good for your collection IMO. The only thing is I would recommend the pleather cover over the plastic cover. The band that keeps the binder shut will fray over time from the plastic cover, whereas the pleather cover is smoother and doesn't fray

always sleeve cards when they go into this style binder. The backing to the pockets can leave a pattern on the backs of the cards over time if you don't. Other then that, they're fairly nice binders.

Cards are always sleeved. They've stretched out the pages enough that they slip out even in sleeves.Just my experience; wanted to make sure people know what could happen.

Woops, I already put my order in on ebay before I saw the thing about the strap. The pleather one was still only about 15 each though so it wasn't so bad!I've never thought about the imprint on the back of the card due to the surface of the pages. Would penny sleeves be sufficient, or should i get a sleeve with a harder back? I typically love penny sleeves just due to ease of handling and the fact that they show the card well.

I suppose penny sleeves would work, I just hate them because most brands have a fairly sloppy fit on the card.

To slightly highjack this, what about graded cards? Has anyone found a good way to binder/store/display these? I've got a coupled 4-pockets sleeves designed for oversized cards that I sometimes use, but it's certainly not very secure. Only other thing I can think of is in a stack with a rubber band.

I think storing graded cards would depend on how many you have. I've seen the binders that can hold 4 at a time. I personally own hundreds so I line them up vertically in a cupboard. If I ever want to browse through the collection the "verticalness" of the cards makes it almost like a library.

I do like having them on shelves on display sometimes, but right now I don't have a good shelf space for that, so they just sit stacked up in the closet right now. I guess for now I can just make do with the 4-pocket sleeves.

have you thought about storing them in plastic boxes?

Just remember that if they are BGS cases, the pressure of having multiple cases on top of each other can case fractures on the surface. PSA cases are more resistant to that and I think it is due to the type of plastic used. BGS cases are also alot sharper, which could cause more pressure and thus cause that fracture.

I usually store my graded cards in a picture frame in my family room. Makes for a great conversation starter"Hey, that's a lovely picture of a flower. Where'd you get that" "Oh, I won it playing ante a long time ago" </attempt at humor>

I put my graded cards under the glas of my work-desk at home, so I can always look at them while working. This is the desk:http://www.ikea.com/nl/nl/catalog/products/S39892962/

Didn't know there was anything other than KMC. Even if there might be, I've always been super happy with those so I wouldn't switch.
