probably the changes. there are 10 different difficulty settings you can choose from, and the default is 'normal'. you can use 1 button to finish the game on that setting. kick it up a notch or two (they come with bonus XP), and make real progress.

I recently started playing FFXIV again and have really liked the progress they've made in the game. I get to play for an hour or two a day typically and feel like I can progress a decent amount in that time frame, which is really great in an MMO. Does anyone else here play?

The lack of arenas in multiplayer battle mode is a huge disappointment.

Anyone ever use those combo systems that play Sega/NES/SNES games? Are they any good, or should I just try and find the actual systems if I want to play those games?

theres a new one out the Retron 5 I think it is try for one of those they are hard to find right now though it plays NES, SNES, Super Famicom, Genesis, Mega Drive, Famicom, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and GBA cartridges on one system. From what I hear they are very reliable I know a guy that owns a video game resale shop.

The build quality of them tends to be really cheap, but I'm sure there are exceptions. You could probably find emulators/roms pretty easily as well.

Playing Skyrim again. I completely forgot much of the side quest storyline and the optimal archer/black smith skill tree setup, so it's almost like I am playing it for the first time again. This will probably give me a good 6 months of gaming.

Is there any game that is like Skyrim? I'm really into that kind of games but am really out of the gaming world, so is there any stuff similar to it?

Okay, I have a PS4 now (thanks to those who bought cards from me!) What games should I be looking at? Got LittleBigPlanet 3 and Batman Arkham Knight (only because I figured since they were all the same price, I might as well get a free game, so I wasn't too disappointed that I really don't care for it). Seriously considering springing for the PlayStation Network subscription so I can try out Elder Scrolls Online and/or Final Fantasy online. Anyone with experience in those that can tell me if they're worth the money?

I love Skyrim, Fallout, Final Fantasy, that kind of thing. FPS games are very much not my kind of thing.

I'm so hooked on Skyrim now (just discovered it). Unbelievable the amount of land you can cover.

Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas both run the same engine. They're basically a post-apocalyptic Skyrim with guns and lead pipes instead of bows and swords.

FFXIV is among the best MMOs available if you liked WOW a few years ago. I played it for ~8 months and enjoyed it overall. The music is top notch, the questing while leveling is generally fairly good, the dungeons are interesting, etc. I did not love certain gameplay decisions (like a higher GCD), but it's a fun game and worth trying out if you like FF and MMOs.

Yep. Only level 10 so far, (not playing much having a girlfriend who has dragged me into this world and is much more fanatical than I am LOL) just bought my house in Whiterun to offload some stuff and now looking into making some money via potion making, smithing and enchanting weapons. As a warrior specializing in two-handed combat, I can't wait to start again as a mage and focussing on other things

I have always gravitated toward stealth based classes in those games, but they are all fun in their own ways and one great thing about the Elder Scrolls world is that it lets you specialize in more than one thing effectively, provided you have the time to level your character. I highly recommend checking out older games in the series as well, particularly Morrowind as that game is just a joy. Graphics are dated of course compared to Skyrim but beyond that it's every bit as rich a game, and you can do things with spell-casting in Morrowing that Elder Scrolls seriously nerfed after that, like Levitation and Jump and Featherfall spells. Amazing stuff, they really castrated Alteration in Oblivion sadly :/

It didn't take me long. I was level 12 before I decided starting over as a Mage . Now I'm level 12 again, working almost exclusively with magic (rarely with battle axes). Loving the Bound Sword graphics. Making my way to Winterhold tonight and leveling the magic skills.

I've bought Morrowind and Oblivion as a surprise, but I didn't think Skyrim would be so extensive! Loving the game, but it'll take a while before I've completed it.

Can you still jump everywhere to get max jump skill and then just start jumping over houses in Skyrim?

I have never "completed" an Elder Scrolls game, as it were. Meaning, done everything there is to do. I've done a LOT though, hundreds of hours pumped into that series. I am not sure you CAN do it all, and if so, that you can still function in life as a human as well :P
