Hello all, I recently began selling some of my old magic cards, some worth a lot and others not.

So far I have luckily only had Canadian purchases but I know I will have a USA purchase soon.

My problem is this:

Currently it costs me about 3.50 to ship WITHIN Canada in a Bubble Mailer, Top Loader, Sleeve etc. NO TRACKING.

I am worried that somebody is going to say "Never received the item"

My cheapest option within Canada with tracking looks like Registered Mail (Non bubble mailer) for 10.50 and includes Signature on delivery. Aside from that it looks like an $18.00 dollar option expresspost with tracking.

Sometimes I am shipping a single card which I have thought about just putting in a normal envelope and protecting it. This saves a bit on my cost but still doesn't provide tracking etc.

When I ship to the USA, the cheapest Paypal option is about $17.00 as well through CanadaPost. When I spoke to somebody at the post office, they said it is around the same amount as well. Shipped as a parcel and express post.

If I ship a bubble mailer out to the USA the postage alone is 3.80 approx. and DOES NOT include any tracking.

So, is there anybody that ships cards from Canada to the USA or from Canada to Canada that has an affordable way to obtain tracking on an item?

I feel like I cannot compete with the US Sellers with First Class Mail. Canada Post seems ridiculously expensive in comparison.

Edit: I should add that some of these cards are only 4.00 and it seems expensive to have to pay so much in shipping. Other cards are $40-50 dollars and so far I have sent them without tracking but I know I will get screwed over eventually by somebody. Some cards or playsets are over $100.00 but I am scared to list them because others can offer cheap tracking and shipping whereas my shipping cost would be 18 dollars and I don't want to ship those without tracking.

Canada Post really sucks. My advice to you is to send the card in a toploader sealed with tape, and then fold a large manila envelope (8.5x11ish) in half.

This counts as oversized mail, which you'll pay a buck and change for, and I always declare it as paper, which the cards are made of.

I've never had a problem with one of these going missing, either to Canada or America. It's basically how I send everything now. If I'm sending something over $100, then I'll put it in a bubble mailer, but that's just me.

As for the tracking, there's no cheap way to do it. Within Canada, ExpressPost can be $9-$18, depending on location.
