I know this has been brought up before (here, for instance) but there never really seems to be any reason as to why it's not done.A common answer is that articles can be placed in the Discussion forum, but I know I still occasionally go back and re-read some of the better articles done by Boltbait and co., and re-opening the forum would help get more article-traffic on MOTL. I don't really have much to say yet, I suppose if this gets talked about this time I'll keep talking. __________________ ... «·´`·.(*·.¸(`·.¸ ¸.·´)¸.·*).·´`·» ... «·´¨*·.¸¸.* Shadow88 *.¸¸.·*¨`·» ... «·´`·.(¸.·´(¸.·* *·.¸)`·.¸).·´`·» ...Looking for cards? geen nin holla atcha

Here, go read the original article.I just posted a short story in the PFS, here. Also, I have written more of my book (link in sig) but have no place to post it. BTW, I just got an email from Avatar of Might. He has not done any writing since the closure of the Articles forum. I hope he starts writing again. As always, I support the re-opening of the Articles forum. I will contribute and I know others will. __________________ I have the best looking H/W List at MOTL! Read my book! Play Dominoes today!

Yeah, I've read that before. The reason cited there is The Tome, but now that that's gone, I don't really see why the forum isn't re-opened. At the very least, I don't see why it's not being opened isn't shared with us. __________________ ... «·´`·.(*·.¸(`·.¸ ¸.·´)¸.·*).·´`·» ... «·´¨*·.¸¸.* Shadow88 *.¸¸.·*¨`·» ... «·´`·.(¸.·´(¸.·* *·.¸)`·.¸).·´`·» ...Looking for cards?

I too would very much like to see it re-opened. Especially now that I feel I can actually contribute something... Or The Tome. I liked that place.

*shrug* I'd be all for the re-opening of The Tome over the Articles forum since some of the horrible chaffe could be sifted through. The problem is that it really takes a group of people to run instead of one person, and those people have to know what they're doing in terms of Magic so the drek is flushed out. It got to the point where Ted and I were basically the only people writing consistently; people can complain all they want that there isn't new content, but when it comes time to put up or shut up by writing themselves, the put up part never comes.

I'm in full support of the Articles forum making a return, or even the Tome. I'd also be willing to help however I can with the sorting/editing required for them. __________________ You can't cheat an honest man. Have a rules question? Try here first.

No way! If the articles forum opens up that means it will get pruned like all the others, then nobody could see my posts from like 3 years ago. I talked like the people that annoy me now.

Lesh could set it up so it wouldn't be pruned, or he could archive the whole thing. __________________ I collect crimped cards. If you have any, please let me know. Thanks!

Only in the case of terrible articles that were so full of errors one simply had to laugh at them. And it only happened once to an article that was one of the worst I've ever read. But then you certainly haven't forgotten that occasion, now have you, Implode?

I think it would help if you finally admitted that the mocked articles were a mistake. They really killed the integrity of the Tome, and the quantity of submissions clearly suffered for it.

Some were legitimate errors on my part, most noticably some of the poor grammar and spelling. Other errors were from words you put in my mouth, and false things you infered from my statements. I know the other reason the tomb failed was because you made MOTL the owner of said works. And had very unfair ownership rights to the articles. I don't know if you were trying to protect MOTL from a lawsuit or were serious about owning the articles?! However if someone is going to the trouble to write they may want to use the article on their own website.

OK, we are NOT going to argue the merits of implode's article or The Tome. This is a discussion about bringing back the articles forum.__________________ I collect crimped cards. If you have any, please let me know. Thanks!

As noted on previous suggestions and discussions, I'd be all up for re-opening the articles forum. Of course, we'd have only a very select group of Mods to hande this (Perhaps Tim and Ted) where there would be strict rules as in what to post and the content. Anyone not following, the post would be closed/deleted and a karma deduction for not following MOTL guidelines. This would be a no-tolerance zone. It has got to be an article with the full basic English school teachings of how to write paragraphs, indentation, spelling, and punctuation. If you can't read the rules, you shouldn't post.__________________ GøÐÐ맧"I hope the Pacific is as blue as is has been in my dreams. I hope." Hank

I'm all for this. Articles forum would add something to the boards that has been missing since it closed. A lot of the stuff was top class, and I'm sure sooner or later it would get wider recognition and a bit of credit...

Id much rather have an articles forum than have to dig through layers of crap to find a good article in the magic forum. How many "Favorite card wording under 3 1/2 lines of text" things do you have to go through just to find something worth reading anyway..__________________ I miss you Trotters :( 9/11/03 aim: PsychoKabob

I've said it a million times...the articles forum was THE best part about MOTL before it got shut down. MOTL just doesn't have the same flavor without it.__________________ One of MOTL's Top 25 PostersSuper-ripper on the loose! Don't trade with anyone from Canada! Check out Mr. Ruboonia's Sale! I really hate to be a Necromancer, but I feel that the plea shouldn't just fall off of the map. I've been trying to find decent MTG articles recently, and bemoaning the fact that I've read everything worth reading on themanadrain. MOTL could be like that too! And it should be! __________________ "I have heard the mermaids singing, each to each. I do not think they will sing to me." -T.S. EliotRIP Ari

Well, I'm sure Lesh is aware of what we want, so I'd just chill and wait for the next time he touches MOTL.__________________ ... «·´`·.(*·.¸(`·.¸ ¸.·´)¸.·*).·´`·» ... «·´¨*·.¸¸.* Shadow88 *.¸¸.·*¨`·» ... «·´`·.(¸.·´(¸.·* *·.¸)`·.¸).·´`·» ...The Trump Card Fear the block

I hope you're right. It would be nice to have the Articles forum back, but I know Leshrac has his reasons for keeping it closed. __________________ Warning! I know that he probably has his reasons for it being closed, but reopening the articles forum would illicit at least a small amount of intelligent and thought-out discussion on MOTL. I go back and read stuff from before I was a member and am left dumbfounded by the high quality of most of it, especially when compared to GD. Just my thoughts.
