When using Ctrl-F to search a large list, there's no easy way to tell if I have found a want or a have. A simple change of background color would do it, and would be much appreciated.

Both backgrounds that exist for post are actually shades of grey. You just have to fiddle with your monitor to be able to tell

Well, if the haves were to be white but encased in the grey (i.e. just make the bit below the dividing line white and make sure that it's framed by grey), I think that would be enough.
