We should have a system where large-value trades are worth "more" than a guy who trades a junk rare just for the ref. I refer the kind of bad opinion as below:""" avendor Member sent May 17, 2008 10:55 AM Click Here to See the Profile for avendor Click Here to Email avendor View avendor's Have/Want ListView avendor's Have/Want List Hi, It wasnt that I didnt have alot of money, I just prefer to keep sales low so I can have many more traders to deal with. More traders = more refs, duh Thank you, AG ------------------ Im too modest a player to reveal the full extent of my abilities! >=) """"

Well that's why there's the option of when you leave a reference you put in the dollar amount of the trade of what it really was worth.People look at that stuff... right? Does anyone research the people they want to trade with beforehand? __________________ The Goddess of Magic MOTL Queen 2006D≡P≡CH≡ MOD≡ "The tin man says I'm doing fine" *Silver Jewelry*New/Returning players guide to Magic*

I really wouldnt worry too much about the worth of a ref, really. Those who are established, will look at him like a joke. Hell, even noobs will laugh @ avendor. his number there, he could have 1k, does that make him more likely a trade partner? I seriously doubt it.© __________________

Well obv. Most of my trades are $50+, and I still get idiots who have 120 non-MOTL, 20 MOTL refs, all less than $5 demanding I send first.

You can just choose not to deal with people who you don't want to trade with.If you make larger trades have some sort of added value on MOTL, you're just going to end up with a lot of people over-inflating the value of their trades. The ref system has already been screwed up with people making it so anything less than a 5 is a bad ref, when a 5 should be only for the very best transactions, we don't need another way for people to make refs misleading. __________________ There's no need to fear, UNDERDOG is here! All your Gruul Nodorogs are belong to me. i aggree with neder on this but on aother note wish there was some way to keep track of people you do more than 1 trade, i do a lot of sellin and buyin as well as tradin but mainly with all the same guys, mabye a bold number beside there name as to how may time you have traded with the same person, will also help newbies on who to ask when asking about peoples refs, they look and see hey he traded etc with that guy 7 times i'll ask him how good a trader the guy is or something like that(think it would be better than just having the option of 10 random selected)my 2 cents has been put in. will __________________ did i say you could play that CAN I SAY COUNTERSPELL???

Personally, I'm a big fan of the dollar amount that gets entered, and I think that suffices. As far as keeping track of multiple trades, I really like the idea of a "number of completed trades" field on the reflist. I expect that re-entering someone's address in the refcheck field would trigger a new ref email, and once confirmed, it would knock up the button. I don't think that it should count as an extra reference when counting the number of references, though. Getting two letters of reference from one professor, for example, is still just one reference--likewise, it makes the most sense to me that a person is the reference. Knowing that someone has completed multiple trades with certain members counts a lot in my estimation, and certainly a lot more than a dozen trades with new users. While you might complete one trade and still give a 4 or 5 with a user whose performance was less than stellar, the odds that you'll go through 2-7 such transactions are much, much lower. Consequently, as a tool to help evaluate a trader's trustworthiness, I think it would be very useful. __________________ "I have heard the mermaids singing, each to each.
