This has been happening a lot lately. I hope it can be fixed.

I go to my inbox (which Firefox shows as http://forums.magictraders.com/privateview.cgi ), but immediately after the list of messages appears, the screen goes blank (which Firefox shows as http://forums.magictraders.com/privatedelete.cgi). Getting to actually view the inbox takes several attempts, and in the meantime, my oldest messages (over the limit of 30) have been deleted -- I never get the chance to select which messages to delete.

There's a limit of 30 messages for a reason. If you're routinely keeping more messages than that, you need to change how you use it. You might want to be sure that your Inbox settings don't show both your inbox and outbox on the same screen.

The Inbox should not be used for anything important. It is there for quick messages of a trivial nature. If it's worth keeping, it should be done by email.

It isn't the deletions I am concerned about as much as the impossibility in reading my messages from a blank screen.

I had that happening too. It does seem to be tied somehow to the number of messages you have. Too many, and it blanks it out sometimes. Best thing to do is just delete some of the messages.

Yes, but if you keep the number of messages under 30, it won't happen, and there's no problem. This commonly happens to me with my Outbox because I always forget to clean it out, so when I need to check something on a past message, I have to click the "back" button twice and go back to the Outbox to read my remaining messages.
