It would be nice to be able to archive or save old PMs, so we can hold more ON the website, instead of having to go to emails or Instant Messaging. Maybe just even upping the number of PMs stored before deletion.

Perhaps if we donate a couple dollars or so for PM space per account? ..

I think i'm not alone on this, but if I am i'm sure i'll find out soon. =)

Anything worth saving should NEVER be stored by MOTL PM. Email is always the appropriate method for anything semi-important. The MOTL PM/IM system should be used for quick messages and relatively mundane communication, not trade details, addresses, etc.

That's not to say people don't use it for said purposes, even if temporarily.

But having the option would invite more people to do it, and as nder said, email is the better way to go. Besides, I'm a cheapskate.

And...? If people are silly enough to misuse it, that's their problem, not mine. Changing things to make it more likely for people to use the PM system inappropriately seems like a pretty bad idea.
