I was wondering if there was a way (or if it would even be worth the programming hassle) to create some sort of "Trade Agreement Page." The idea only came to me as I've had a couple trades where the other trader more than likely would not have received higher than a 2-3 had they actually sent me a ref check. They obviously knew it wouldn't have been a good ref and never sent one over. The only way I could think of "fixing" that issue was a system similar to what eBay uses for their feedback. What if there was a page where you could enter into text boxes the usernames of those in the trade and the cards in the trade and maybe even a place for mailing addresses and a checkbox area of user 1 sending first, user 2 sending first, simulsend, 3rd party (text box for username), and trade value. Then after you submit it an email/PM is sent to both users who then click something that means they agree to everything there. Then once you receive your cards you can go back to that page and leave a ref check from there. That way, if someone packaged high value card poorly or took 3 weeks to mail cards from 2 states away there was a way to leave some sort of mention of it on their rating page to see if it forms any patterns. As it is someone could have 20-30 great refs and 5-10 really poor ones but none of the poor ones are listed because they were smart enough to not ask for that ref.

If someone did something to warrant a 2-3, they usually did something to warrant being posted in the Bad Trader Alerts forum. I'm not sure a whole lot of programming work is necessary to deal with an issue that there's already a way to handle.__________________ There's no need to fear, UNDERDOG is here! All your Gruul Nodorogs are belong to me. A few months ago I made three seperate purchases from the same guy on ebay. I left 3 refs for him, but I still haven't got mine. quote: Originally posted by CubFan81: As it is someone could have 20-30 great refs and 5-10 really poor ones but none of the poor ones are listed because they were smart enough to not ask for that ref.
You could add a clause to your trade agreements specifically requiring an exchange of references as part of the trade.

Sure, just note that such a clause would be completely unenforceable. The rules of the BTA are quite clear that issues with a reference left or lack thereof are strictly forbidden. __________________ There's no need to fear, UNDERDOG is here! All your Gruul Nodorogs are belong to me. Similiar to the acceptance of responsibility for lost, damaged, or stolen mail. I thought they would be enforceable if the other party agrees to those terms.

BTA rules expressly forbid posting for any reference issues. I don't care what agreements people may have entered into, it's not an issue for us to deal with. We have no way of forcing anyone to exchange references, that's between the two traders. __________________ There's no need to fear, UNDERDOG is here! All your Gruul Nodorogs are belong to me.
