I've seen this come up a few times recently so I'm wondering if we can do something to improve it. If two parties agree to a deal and one person doesn't follow through on their end in a timely manner, the person that's waiting on the other end has their cards held hostage. Typically the nicer the person the longer they'll give the other party the benefit of the doubt and let them drag it out. If someone doesn't follow through on their end of the trade should we have some sort of reasonable time line of acceptable mailing/payment dates? Especially if it comes to electronic payments like paypal the time should be next to nothing. Being accountable to complete a trade when the other party takes a month+ to get your payment to you just seems unreasonable. It doesn't seem like you should need both parties consent at this point to cancel the trade but it does seem like the seller should have the option to do so and the buyer still be held responsible for their poor trading habits via BTA + karma smack.__________________

While it does suck for someone to be holding on to cards, I'm not so sure that them being able to unilaterally drop the trade is such a good thing. If the party hasn't sent yet, that's one thing and it would probably be a reasonable adjustment to the rules. On the other hand, if a package has gotten delayed in the mail before being delivered or returned to the sender, do you really think it's fair to make the guy who's cards were delayed through no fault of his own to now just be out? I can think of a case offhand where a package involved in a BTA case was delayed to the point where the sender was almost banned for not sending before the cards arrived at their destination.__________________ There's no need to fear, UNDERDOG is here! All your Gruul Nodorogs are belong to me. The following has now been added to the BTA forum rules:If someone has been accused of backing out of a confirmed trade, they will be given one week to respond. If they fail to do so, they will be emailed by a Moderator, then given 1 more week to respond. If they still do not respond, then the case will be closed and the people they had trades with will be free to put the cards from their side of the deal back up for trade. __________________ There's no need to fear, UNDERDOG is here! All your Gruul Nodorogs are belong to me. Guess its something. Two weeks still sucks tho. Values can change fast especially w/ stuff like M10 sitting on cards for 2 weeks could see half their value drop. Glad I'm picky about who I sell to. I'd so be outa business if I did it for a living.__________________

You have to give the other party a chance to respond and give their side of the story. As with all things related to online trading, if you can't afford the risk, then don't make the trade. __________________ There's no need to fear, UNDERDOG is here! All your Gruul Nodorogs are belong to me.
