So when we the e-mail system was last working i had 16 Refs, not bad for just a few months. Now i'm up to 31 "refs" but yet i can't do anything about it, and i'm stuck on sweet 16. Is there any way that someone could do something? Maybe offer some sort of alternative? For example....
ModRef - Creates a Ref post (Yes, it's alot of work)
But on this post it's locked and only Mod Ref can make changes. Once someone has done a trade they report this to ModRef and then ModRef confirms it with the other person and gives a 1/5 added to the persons name. Now i know this is alot of work and odd's are this will not be a reliable solution. So i'm asking everyone this single question... What would you do to keep track of ref's?

Keep the list of all the people that you've traded with on your Have/Want list for everyone to see and if anyone questions you about who you have traded with or your number of references they can either PM or rather email anyone from your reference list to confirm that you have traded with them. This is how the Ref Checker works.

Let me make it clear, I understand that this sucks. We all understand that. Unfortunately, no one has any way to contact Eddie Holman, aka Leshrac, the site owner, and he's the only person who can fix this.__________________

Does the site owner have nothing to do with the site anymore? That's...odd. It's a fairly obvious idea, hence probably already thought of, but perhaps when you get a hold of Eddie, you could get him to pass the keys to the site to someone who's still, y'know, active. Appoint a lieutenant from among the mods, sorta thing.Or is it just this particular problem that needs Eddie? I was away from MOTL for three years and was amazed that it hadn't changed a stitch when I came back earlier this year. Is it because any change to the site would need Eddie to make, or just a "if it ain't broke..." philosophy? Anyway, must be frustrating for you guys, hope you succeed in reaching him soon. (Have you tried zabasearch.com?)

I had a wierd issue today... speaking of refs,1 of my refs disappeared? I was at 71, now I am at 70...

Does somebody working on the ref system to make it working again??i mean, is it possible to know why its not working and what can be done to repair it and how much time it could take? thanks

Even though I knew the Ref Checker was down, I was adding names to it because I assumed the e-mails would be sent when the Ref Checker came back online.
However, yesterday about 20 of my unconfirmed references just disappeared, which is very very uncool. What happened? Can these be brought back?

Ref requests expire after 10 days. The emails will most likely be sent out when the system is fixed, but the links will be useless. You should get notifications of which ones expired if old emails do get sent out, so you can use that to remember who to resend to.

I sure hope this happens, I have several $100 trades + sales or trades waiting to be documented (including one you 3rd partied Nder...)

Great, although I hope to hell those notifications get sent, since I've got 40+ ref requests that are going to be bad

Since emails addresses you add expire, I suggest making a word doc list and adding to it as trades are completed (for copy/paste purposes). Just remember to drop to the next line after each address.It's a heck of a lot easier than looking up each user you traded with each time their email address drops off your ref list... This is how I'm doing it.

Or keep track of them RIGHT ON YOUR LIST! At the top in the "Rules" Section.
