First off, I know that real life is first priority. Secondly, I understand that most of the mod's free time is spent towards fixing the ref checker among other things. My suggestion is to make a forum currency, as in another way to buy/sell cards/other stuff via the forum. An example is if anyone has ever played diablo II. There is an online trading community known as d2jsp. This is a very reliable market place for trading the items in Diablo II. A link to the website can be found here. There are really only two ways of getting their "Forum Gold," or fg for short; 1. By trading with other users; and 2. By donating to the website. The great thing about this system is that it is still free to use. "Buying Forum Gold" is still just Donating to the site. It is not required, but when people do donate, they gain a level of stars next to their name just to differentiate them from non donors. The system is similar to MOTL, but different in that whoever sent first was usually determined by join date, as opposed to how many references that user has. Places where this system would really shine are forums such as MOTL Card Exchange Part XX. But it would also be useful in general trades. I appreciate you taking the time to read my suggestion, and any comments are appreciated. Feel free to add any insight, pros/cons, or just outright reject my idea, but it proves to work pretty well. What exactly would this "currency" do? I'm unclear on what the point is.__________________ There's no need to fear, UNDERDOG is here! All your Gruul Nodorogs are belong to me. Trade them to me, please! Report rules violations. Remember the Auctions Board!

I think he means the same thing that I suggested and got shot down. Instead of say, trading your my Baneslayer Angel for 6 Zendikar Fetchlands. I could instead trade you my Baneslayer Angel for 60 MOTL Currency Points. Then, I would have 60 MOTL Currency Points that I could use to trade with other people, or use towards other things (like upgraded forum privileges, cool avatars, etc etc). While my idea revolved simply around Membership Teirs (Basic Membership and Premium Membership, the difference being the donator Premium Membership gets 3 "Gold Ups" which allows your trade thread to stay bumped at the top of the forums for 3 days, or 1 week or whatever), I believe this is an extreme version where the sky is the limit for what can happen with Forum Currency. While I disprove of the idea of Forum Currency, I still feel strongly for tiered membership.

paypal works wonders, its all we need. motl isn't a bank. D2JSP has to deal w/ so much crap. MOTL just lets you connect, they don't actually broker deals. __________________

Being a former Moderator on d2jsp, I can tell you right now the dynamics of Diablo II and d2jsp FG is much, much different than what it is for Magic.FG was created because there was no currency for Diablo (and because you couldn't conduct a trade more than 40 spaces safely), but we already have access to PayPal and USD here. No reason to fix what is broken. Leave it as it is
