This would be useful for a few reasons. It would allow any trends to be spotted in users who consistently don't receive packages or users whose packages consistently go missing. It would give users an idea how often it can be reasonably expected that something might happen, and whether lost mail ever does show up. It would also provide an incentive for people not to occasionally rip someone who has sent first, which currently there is little protection against.

To avoid dispute over specific trades this thread could be limited to a few specific details, with no other discussion allowed. My idea would be something like username of sender, username of recipient, date sent, shipping method and maybe city of origin/destination.

I see that a thread like this would not be necessary in the perfect world of everyone using DC all the time, but the fact is this is not done, particularly with smaller trades, particularly internationally. Having a thread like this would not increase the responsibilities of MOTL and the mods by much, but might greatly increase the transparency of some of the transactions going on here.
