According to the H/W List rules: "7. Abuse of the reference system will not be tolerated. This includes, but is not limited to, giving away references, offering cards for references, swapping refs with your friends, and trading refs without actually trading cards. Remember, if you didn't exchange through the mail, you can’t get a reference for it."The spirit of this rule is to prevent abuse of the system. Selling MTGO tix was not a thing a few years ago. According to the letter of the law, a exchanging refs is forbidden. However, since things are exchanged and trust is still involved, with sending payment and sending tix, I feel that a ref exchange is valid. Thanks! Mark

From the way it looks sales would not count either.

Unless your trading paper cards for digital cards, I say no. Allows to much abuse imo. Ex: MTGO trader sell tix on motl, collects 100 or so refs, then starts ripping ppl off on motl. Then gets banned and starts another Mtgo account, rinse and repeat. __________________ 33rd in refs on Motl! #1 Ref's for Arizona! I offer 3rd party trading services. Email if interested. Considering you have to be a member for a year and have 40 refs just to start selling tix, I think it's reasonable to exchange refs for those transactions.Does anyone here honestly think this isn't going on already?

It doesn't look like we ever got an answer on this. Mods, what do you think? Can we exchange refs when buying/sell MTGO tix?

I don't have a problem as long as it's not extended to things like MTGO card-for-card or card-for-tix trades, where there's no risks. It's up to the others as well, though.__________________ There's no need to fear, UNDERDOG is here! All your Gruul Nodorogs are belong to me. Trade them to me, please! Report rules violations. That seems reasonable to me. Thanks for the input!
