That is just terrible news... Doug was one of my favorite artists and an all-round great guy. He was always willing to sign, did many wonderful sketches for me, and always included nice letters updating me on his life (saved 'em all). I sent him some Battletech cards to sign late last year and he offered to sell me several of the original paintings that went with them - I passed, but cool nonetheless.

I have a sketch he did across 9 Battletech cards that is still one of my favorites - I'll dig up a pic and post it when I get home tomorrow.

Doug... rest well, you will be missed.

It is a link to a blog page providing information for those wanting to help out. They have substantial medical bills and no insurance according to the information on the website. I plan on purchasing some of her proofs when she has them available and may also donate as well.

I wouldn't brag except to post that he did indeed sign the card and return via mail. And a picture of the card. And then request that person to indeed claim me the King; but beyond that. Meh, to much wasted energy on egomania.
