Yah, I bought 3 Rise fat packs, got crap. I buy one for my wife (she just plays very casually, and loves the boxes lol), and she gets a foil vengevine and a kargan dragon lord in hers.... not fair at all

When I was (IIRC) six or so, I convinced my dad to buy me a pack of pokemon cards. This was back in the very early days, with the original 150 and whatnot. So dad buys himself a pack as well just to see what they're like. I get a pinsir as my rare card.Dad gets a holographic venusaur. I never behaved better in my life than in the week after he pulled that card xD __________________ OGB: If I'm paying $8.00 for a Revised Disk, it better come with a reach around.I have always been willing to put myself at great persona risk for the sake of entertainment. My old lady tried magic but she found it too rules intensive for her to enjoy it.__________________ Member Since 03/28/2001 10000+ posts 3rd in posts in Ontario 15th in posts on MOTL Top 5 in Refs in Ontario (by people who location posted)

I had a GF who played, and she was good too. but we broke up. oh well. I guess this new one makes up for it by being 5x prettier

I have been with my girlfriend for 8 years, since we were 14 or so. I didn't even tell her I played magic until a couple years in.It never came up in convo, and never felt the need to tell her, since we both were very athletic and played HS sports. When I finally told her, she laughed at me. I'd love to get her to play, seeing as NOONE I'm friends with plays, but she thinks it's too nerdy. __________________ -Schmitty 5th in Refs [184] in OH-IO (Catching up to xion_black) 2nd in Posts [5304] in OH-IO (Have a long way to go to catch Val)

I know what you mean, it's not something a lot of people really comprehend. I mean seriously, whenever I need to explain what it is, people always assume it's like a YuGiOh kids game. I like to compare it to chess. It's a strategy Game, where each card does something different. kinda like a chess piece, but with more rules. but explaining to girls, specially the ones you like is more difficult.

My girlfriend pulled a Scrubland from a Zen Pack. Now I let her pick all my boxes/packs.

If you feel like you have to hide Magic from someone you're dating, that's probably a sign that you're looking for love in all the wrong places.I tried for years to get Nderwife to play Magic with varying levels of success, but she never really took to it. Then we showed up at the Planechase release event and she agreed to play just for a little bit because it was cheaper to pay the tournament fee of $20 and get a Planechase deck plus the promo card than it would have been to just buy a Planechase deck for $25, and that she could drop out whenever she wanted and go do something else. Apparently she enjoyed playing with people who were not me, and she's played every prerelease/release/Gameday event since then that we've been able to, and she really likes it, but we don't play all that much at home unless she's trying to get used to a new deck. That said, this really does belong in the Post for Magic Stuff.
