JoshSherman Member	posted January 20, 2011 10:27 PM Hello, I want to turn building Mr. Yuk into a contest. Mr. Yuk is the name for my pet mono-black deck, whose idea is to get Ichor Rats into play, then proliferate for the win. At the moment, there are 16 cards in it that are not up for discussion: 4 Ichor Rats 4 Throne of Geth 4 Contagion Clasp 4 Everflowing Chalice The other 20 slots are what you're going to help me decide! Here's how it works. I will post a list of 5 cards twice a week, on Monday and Thursday. You PM me your vote for which card should be the next in the deck. That will give ample time in between to discuss where the deck is going. At the end of this, I vow to play the deck you helped me choose at an FNM. Also, the person who votes on the most cards that get into the deck will win a prize from me. Don't expect anything fancy. OK, here is the first list: Doom Blade- kills dudes Necropede- blocks, kills smaller dudes Mimic Vat- because a lot of dudes die Corpse Cur- because Mr. Yuk dies Duress- because I meed Mr. Yuk to resolve, and can't deal with planeswalers once they hit the board. Each of the five cards had its merits. I am running them all in my current build of the deck. I don't typicaly have mana issues, which is good because this deck is mana intensive. Your votes are due by Wednesday, January 26th. I will post results and the next list then. EuroRunner Member	posted January 21, 2011 08:22 AM For me it comes down to Duress and Necropede with my vote going to the bug. You need dudes and this one gets in under the counterspell wall on the play. On the draw i don't see him eating a mana leak from an unknowing opponent. Against aggro, pede can be solid, better than just 1 for 1 removal like the blade as he is able to fog an early assault and take out a lynx or geopede in the process is gonna save you 4-10 points of damage in those all important first few turns. Of course, it would help to know what your local meta consists of and the caliber of player you will face.

I have to manipulate the choices a bit otherwise the deck would be totally bad rather than probably bad. Also, my local meta is basically determined by what I bring to the shop with me. ryan2754 Member	posted January 21, 2011 01:03 PM On the whole I agree with EuroRunner b/w Duress and Necropede. But I'm gonna give the knod to duress mainly because it's a first turn play that is severely lacking in Infect type deck.

mm1983 Member	posted January 21, 2011 07:02 PM Mimic vat wins my vote. It's at least an auto poison counter every turn plus gives you the opportunity to use your opponents creatures against them.

Ippon Member	posted January 23, 2011 07:26 PM I myself made a BW poison deck with Tempered Steel, Vector Asp, Ichorclaw Myr, Necropede, Corpse Curs, etc. It was kinda fun and caught a bunch of people off-guard. I can definitely see mono-black working. I really like Mimic Vat in mono-black to re-use things like Hexmage to kill plainswalkers, or necropede to add more counters. My vote out of those 5 cards would be in this order. Necropede Mimic Vat Duress Corpse Cur (I found them slow)

Liq Member	posted January 25, 2011 09:22 AM My Assessment and voting order. Corpse Cur - Late Game. Not good at 4x. Mimic Vat - Mid/Late Game. Not good at 4x. Duress - I find Duress to be meh at best. Especially in an FNM environment. Doom Blade - Great Removal. Necropede - Early Game. Doubles as removal. ryan2754 Member	posted January 27, 2011 04:56 PM I think it's between Phyrexian Crusader and Necropede. mm1983 Member	posted January 27, 2011 05:37 PM Voting for Black Sun's Zenith. As a sideboard option if you are planning on it I'd use Phyrexian Crusader since you may need it against anything red or white but since the set is not out yet it's not really proven to be main deck worthy.
