Hey LegendaryFerret, I think I beat you?On the play, you can balance me and make me discard 4, which get shuffled into library. I draw 3 cards and you do 3 damage with memnite, so I have enough to channel to emrakul and win. If you hold onto cards, if I get tropical island into play I can daze your balance. Even if you play first, you can't do enough damage to me with memnite to prevent channel.

It depends on how the shuffle works. The way I count it, it goes like this: End of your first draw step, I play Memnite, respond with Mox, Mox, Balance. You discard your hand and it gets shuffled back in. Since you control the shuffle trigger, I get to choose how your library is arranged (random efects go as badly as possible for their owner). I pick Emrakul last. I then get to swing 5 times before you draw the emrakul, so you're at 15 when you get it, so can't cast it. Let me know if I miscounted that or misinterpreted one of the rules.

Question on Magic1264 deck. Dosent it auto lose since the Elvish Spirit guides get exiled. The lich's mirror won't shuffle the guides back in right?

Yeah they don't shuffle back, also rocket launcher has to wait a turn to be used so he can't do any damage.

#2 is an illegal decklist. I'll edit it out of everyone's scores later.I didn't catch it when he first submitted it.

There are a few discrepancies, but nothing that would significantly change the outcome, except #11 vs. #18. I think #18 goes WW, but if anyone thinks otherwise, please let me know.Final Scores: code:

Yes there are discrepancies in who's scores you chose to accept, but you are wrong about it not changing the outcome. Like I posted for my scores, #11 vs #18 is DD. Both players can't win either game. It is actually a pretty simple scenario.quote: Originally posted by yakusoku: There are a few discrepancies, but nothing that would significantly change the outcome, except #11 vs. #18. Didn't I just write "EXCEPT FOR #11 vs. 18"? Of course that one makes a difference. This is why I asked for clarification. You're right, it's a staring contest, which changes things. For #11 vs #18:If #11 plays 1st, he plays City + Mox + Rack + Balance. If #18 plays Emrakul, he just loses it to Balance, so he does not. Instead, he discards Mox + Mox + Emrakul. On his upkeep, he loses 2 to The Rack and then draws a card. On #11's turn, he plays The Rack #2. On #18's turn, he takes 2 more from The Racks and draws a card. He's at 16 with 3 cards in hand so he does not take any more damage from The Racks. #18 waits until he draws his last card next turn then plays out Emrakul. Unfortunately, he's now got 0 cards in hand so he dies to The Rack next turn... Instead, he just doesn't play Emrakul and they stare. On #18's play, it doesn't change anything. He can't play turn 1 Emrakul. He'll get in 1 attack and then lose it all to Balance, so the same situation happens. __________________ 3rd most references in Kentucky; 3rd most posts in KentuckyBlackborder.com Grading Guide

Another discrepancy:#3 vs #11: On #11's play, he plays City + Mox + The Rack + Balance. #3 keeps Shelldock Isle and discards/reshuffles the rest. #11 plays The Rack 2. #3 takes 4 damage (16 life) and draws a card. Next turn, #3 takes 2 damage (14 life) and draws a card. Once #3's hand is full, he combos and wins. What happens if #11 does not play Balance immediately? If he plays turn 1 The Rack x2? Then #3 plays Island. If #11 plays Balance, then #3 will just redraw everything with Emrakul and win. If #3 plays Brainstorm + Isle, then #3 plays Balance (with extra mana to pay for Daze) and #3 loses a land and can't activate Isle. So #3 just sits there. This is a staring contest that ends in DD. __________________ 3rd most references in Kentucky; 3rd most posts in KentuckyBlackborder.com Grading Guide

Sorry for the triple post, but I thought this was easier to argue/discuss the discrepancies:#11 vs. #13: #11 has this as DD but #13 has this as LL. On #11's play, #11 plays City + The Rack + The Rack. #3 plays Karakas. #11 plays Mox + Balance and wins. On #3's play, he plays Karakas. #11 plays City + The Rack + The Rack. #3 plays Meddling Mage. If Mage names The Rack, then Balance wins. If Mage names Balance, then 2x The Rack outraces Mage. This should be WW for #11. __________________ 3rd most references in Kentucky; 3rd most posts in KentuckyBlackborder.com Grading Guide

Other potential discrepancies:#5 vs. #10 #18 vs. #16 I'm tired, though, so I'll leave these to other people, if they end up mattering :-P __________________ 3rd most references in Kentucky; 3rd most posts in KentuckyBlackborder.com Grading Guide

1 vs 11 is off too, I think. I mentioned it a bit ago, but I'll redo it.1 vs 11 with 1 on the play. 1 starts with leyline and plays strip mine, pearl, sapphire, mage on rack. If 11 balances, he needs to lose his whole hand, so can't play the rack. If he doesn't, the mage kills him. So it's a draw. I can verify that 5 vs 10 is right (in detail a page or so ago). 18 vs 16 is WW for 18. In both cases he plays Emrakul end of turn and swings twice for the win. If 16 combos, he plays emrakul to block who goes down to 4/4 which is more than enough to eventually win after annhilating all the lands/sneak attack.
