Yes, vivid lands were a mistake. That was a format where people played Cryptic Command, Cloudthresher, Wrath of God, and Cruel Ultimatum in the same deck.Standard has been stuck in a 5+ year rut that alternates between these two situations: 1. There is only one Tier 1 deck. Caw-Blade is the most obvious example. 2. There are two Tier 1 decks, but they are both built around the same card. (Jund + Naya, Faeries + 5-color control)

Parasite Hex is trash. If that is the best answer they are going to give us for JTMS then they might as well not given us an answer at all. If Wizards wanted to combat a stupidly broken card then Parasite Hex should have read remove x counters, and then put that many counters on Parasite Hex.

standard is always going to be stuck w/ a limited variety of decks. Its the smallest pool of cards available. Right now things aren't too bad, RUG, caw-blade, goblins, elves, valukut. Not sure what more we can expect.

I think the only card I saw that was actually playable in response to Jace is Beast Within. Despise seems good until you realize it does the exact same thing (jace-wise) as duress. Duress hasnt exactly helped so far. Plus Despise doesnt even hit Sword of F&F. I just dont see anything in this set changing wizards mind on whether to ban or not ban.

Hex parasite has potential.Plus he gets random things like tumble magnet, sphere of the suns, quest for holy relic, khalni-heart expedition, everflowing chalice, ascensions, ratchet bomb Oh and you can remove the counters from your Aboroth. WHO'S THE MAN NOW? ABOROTH IS THE MAN.

There are cards that can handle Jace, TMS. The same talk was with Goyf when he was in Standard. Planeswalkers are meant to be powerful, you just have to deal with them. There are cards like Duress and Memoricide that can take it from your hand and deck. Phyrexian Revoker shuts it down and Caw-Blade has no answer to it if it doesn't attack besides Day of Judgement. Vampire Hexmage gets rid of Jace and if you can't afford Big Jace you have little Jace who is affordable to Legend rule it. People complain about Jace because of the price. Some can't afford it, and if they had 4 copies they wouldn't be complaining. The only reason Nicol Bolas wasn't played was he was too expensive but his abilities were ridiculous! Jace could be the same casting cost as Cryptic Command and still would see play. Without Jace, TMS Blue is really unplayable. Mana Leak and Preordain are just not enough reason to play Blue when you can get more out of other colors. __________________ How many times do I have to have a secret rendezvous with your mom before you realize we have something special?2007-08 MOTL Fantasy Hockey Champ! 2008 MOTL Fantasy Football Champ! 2008-09 MOTL Fantasy Hockey Champ! From Mirrodin post-ban up until Ravnica rotated out, T2 was decent and not really dominated by tier 1 decks.
