5-Card Blind (5CB) is a very unique game. The rules are as follows: * Your deck is composed of 5 cards, all of which start in your hand. * You have no library (technically, the library exists, but starts at 0 cards) and no sideboard (Wishes fetch nothing). * Random effects always go against the owner of the card. * You can see your opponent's hand, so you can always make the best possible play. * You don't lose as a result of not being able to draw a card. * You will play each opponent twice, once going first, once going second. * For each win, you score 3. * For each draw, you score 1. * For each loss, you get nothing. * A subgame played with the card Shahrazad where neither player has any means to win the subgame will result in an incomplete game and both players will receive ZERO points for that game, since the main game cannot be resumed. Neither player loses or draws, so neither player earns any points. * Other than the aforementioned, EVERYTHING IS HANDLED EXACTLY LIKE A REAL GAME OF MAGIC! Remember, it is important for your deck to include a way to cast your cards! (Lands, artifact mana, pitch cards, etc.) If you want to play PM me a message in this format. Subject should include "Vanishing 5-Card Blind" (Just click on the little PM icon above my post and it should work out that way.) Card #1 Card #2 Card #3 Card #4 Card #5 Be sure you really are happy with your deck before you submit. Once you send in a deck, there is no changing it except in the case of an illegal entry. Please make every effort to spell your card names correctly. It makes it easier for everyone. Thanks. The "Vanishing" part is the twist. To start off with, only Unglued, Unhinged and Ante cards are banned. After each round, the 5 cards in the winning deck plus any cards in more than 1/3 of the decks played will be banned for all future rounds. Any lands that only provide mana are exempted from the banning rules.NO MISE DECKS! Any deck submitted MUST have some win condition. Any deck that can do no better than a draw against any possible deck will be rejected. A deck that can't win any game is mathematically eliminated from winning the round, and thus would just be taking a chance to win away from someone who could actually have a shot. ALL players will assist in judging. The way this will work is that after the submission period is over, After all decks are revealed, judge your own deck against every other deck (going first and going second). Post your findings here in this thread. They will be reviewed by everyone for accuracy. Once a winner is determined the winners deck will be added to the banned list and the next round will begin. The decklists have been posted.PLEASE make sure you use the proper deck number for your deck. Replace the '?' on the bottom line with the number next to your name on the decklist. Scoring: Play your deck against each other deck twice, once with you going first, once with them going first. Always remember that each deck is to be played perfectly. For each of the 2 games, score 3 points if your deck wins or 1 point if the game is a draw, with no points for a loss. Some examples: 2 wins (WW) is 6 points. A win and a draw (WD) is 4 points. A win and a loss (WL) is 3 points. 2 draws (DD) is 2 points. A draw and a loss (DL) is 1 point. 2 losses (LL) is 0 points. Plug YOUR deck number into the ? below the ##, and your score against each deck into the other slots. Do not play your deck against itself. Just enter an 'x' in the chart under your deck number. 1. yakusoku XX Mox Jet Mutavault Mesmeric Fiend Snapback Misdirection 2. Magic1264 LL. He has no spells and no non-land cards. Misdirection and Mesmeric Fiend are dead cards. Wasteland destroys my Mutavault, then he kills me with his Mutavault. 3. SageShadows WW. If he plays either Inquisition or Encroach, I will Misdirect that to him. Mesmeric Fiend takes Vampire Hexmage and I win. 4. LemonMeringue DW On the draw, Gemstone Caverns does nothing and I win with Mesmeric Fiend. On the play, he can removes Spell Pierce or Path to Exile. If he Spell Pierce, he can't counter anything I do, and I play Mesmeric Fiend and Snapback in response to exile his Fiend forever. Wasteland destroys Mutavault and we draw. Or, I take Path, he takes Snapback and he's forced to Wasteland my Mutavault and Fiends trade. If he exiles Path, he can stop me from playing Mox Jet on my first turn, but either we stare at each other forever, or he plays Wasteland and Mesmeric Fiend and takes a spell. If he takes Fiend, I play Snapback, get my Fiend back and Fiend his Fiend. If he takes Snapback, I play Fiend, taking Spell Pierce and we're back to me holding back Mutavault for Fiend, Wasteland destroying Mutavault and Fiends trading. It looks like a draw no matter what he does to me. 5. Numotflame96 WW. On the play, I grab LED. On the draw, I Snapback Chronosavant and take it with Fiend. 6. Myy WW. On the play, Mutavault wins with Mox Jet, despite one turn of Unsummon. On the draw, Mesmeric Fiend takes Jet (if he takes Fiend, my 2/2 > 1/1). I play Mutavault, then during his EOT, play Snapback, keeping one back to pay for Daze. I play Mox Jet, keeping Mutavault to pay one for Daze and win with Mutavault. 7. LegendaryFerret WW. I Snapback his Colossus and Fiend it on the draw and just Fiend it on the play. 8. coinmagic45 WD. On the play, I play Mutavault and Mox Jet and Fiend taking Baloth. If he tries to Commandeer either Mox Jet or Fiend, I misdirect that to my Misdirection. On the draw, I can't stop him from suspending Baloth. I can, however, attack him a few times, bringing the life totals to 20-8. If he attacks the turn he casts Baloth, I go to 15, then he goes to 5, 10-5, 10-2, 5-2, he dies. So, he can't keep attacking and I can't get past a 5/5.

1. yakusoku - On the play, suspending Baloth is too slow to win but leads to a draw (see yaku's explanation). On the draw, he casts Mox, I Commandeer, he Misdirects Commandeer onto the Misdirection. Mox resolves, then Fiend takes Baloth for the win. DL 2. Magic1264 - My counterspells do nothing and I lose. LL 3. SageShadows - He casts turn 2 Hexmage that I can't stop. LL 4. LemonMeringue - Mise deck, right? It can't WW against 5x Islands. If not, then on the play, I suspend Baloth. He Fiends my Misdirection and Wastelands my land then Paths Baloth and and I lose. On the draw, he can't play anything. WL 5. Numotflame96 - Commandeer takes LED and I win. WW 6. Myy - On the play, Baloth wins. On the draw, Daze forces through Mox and lets him play Jet for the loss. WL 7. LegendaryFerret - Commandeer steals Mox and I win. WW Was really hoping for more Moxes. I forgot that gemstone cavern could only be used on the draw, i cannot win on the play. However, the deck can win, just only on the draw, so I think it counts as a deck. I submitted it and had no imput from yaku to change it so I believe he agrees. Mise deck is only one that cannot win at all, and can at best go DD

LemonMeringue LW On the play, Gemstone Caverns comes into play, with him exiling a Path to Exile. I can’t steal that Wasteland in his hand and lose. On the draw, he has no colored sources. I win. Weirdest results ever. 5. Numotflame96 WW The deck is mise, but I win handily. 6. Myy DL On the play, I grab a Mox Jet and pass the turn. He plays an Island, which can daze my Hexmage. We tie.
