My foils were all garbage, which was a disappointment, and I didn't get the SoWP. Here's what I got: 1x Karn 1x Batterskull 1x Phyrexian Obliterator 1x Surgical Extraction 1x Puresteel Paladin 1x Hex Parasite 2x Mental Misstep (was really hoping for 4) 1x Jin-Gitaxias 1x Vorinclex 1x Phyrexian Metamorph 1x Sheoldred 1x Etched Monstrosity 1x Myr Superion Would you be happy if this was your box? I know it could've been better, but snagging 3 of the $15+ cards was nice. [Edited 1 times, lastly by InResponseForceOfWill on May 24, 2011]

You're right that it doesn't add up. I'm not oblivious. But in my opinion, it's the simple joy of opening all 36 packs that is well worth the difference monetarily. I think it could've been worse... Anyone get a really crappy box?

I opened up a fat pack consisting of this 1x Jin Gitaxias 1x Phyrexian Unlife 1x Norn's Annex 1x Invader Parasite 1x Blade Splicer 1x That artifact that switches life totals 1x Chancellor of the Spires forgot the rest of the rares only pulled two foils...one was a swamp the other was a batterskull, which was the only thing that saved this fat pack from getting thrown into the incinerator.

bigbob585 Member	posted May 24, 2011 06:37 PM you have to open a lot of boxes. I open about 50-100 each set. I've never seen two foil mythics in one english box. I've frequently seen a foil mythic in each japanese box per case. I actually got 2 foil karns in that case. That second box though.. had about $15 in cards. There have been a much higher number of foil mythics pulled in general here than normal, but it probably just an oddity.
skizzikmonger Member	posted May 24, 2011 07:47 PM The first 24 packs I opened from the box I got was hilighted by a Spellskite, Misstep, and Surgical Extraction. The last 12 has 2x Phyrexian Obliterator and a Karn. The 25 packs I've opened since have been crap with the only good cards being 1x Misstep, 1x Beast Within, and 2x Surgical Extraction. __________________ MTGoverextended.com

James_Hetfield2 Member	posted May 24, 2011 07:55 PM I opened 3 Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur in one box. Nothing else really of note and only 1 Misstep. Now thats a tough box to beat
Nyarlathotep333 Member	posted May 24, 2011 08:02 PM I've opened a fatpack and bought a total of around 15-20 boosters so far and the best I've pulled for mythics was Elesh Norn x2. The best rares have been Spellskite x2. The only saving grace so far I've had is that I seem to have OK luck pulling Mental Misstep and Beast Within. The other funny thing is that so far, the one common I need 4 of for a deck (Mutagenic Growth) I've only got 3 of so far out of all those packs. The only foils so far for me have been a Bludgeon Brawl, Ogre Menial and Vulshok Refugee. I think it's just my bad luck though as the other 4 guys at the FLGS when I got my fatpack all were pulling good: between them they pulled 1 Sword, 1 Karn, 1 Obliterator and 2 Batterskulls, all in the short time it took me to open my packs that day. No matter what, the only things i've ever opened worth more than 5 bucks have been Koth and Moltentail Masticore (when they were both at their peaks). Oh and a Fetch and a couple Sorins. I can't seem to open anything awesome.

It's just odd distibution with double mythics in a lot of boxes.

I think I like it more like scratch tickets.

I think I like it more like scratch tickets. Back in 1990s, I bought 6 booster packs from Tempest-Exodus and got all junk. I never bought booster packs again, until Zendikar with all its goodies came along. I figured that my past misfortunes were due to simply bad random luck. So I ordered 1 case of Zendikar. Compared to my 10+ friends who ordered 1 case each, my case was the worst, with 1 Lotus Cobra, 16 fetches, 1 foil fetch. Some people simply have luck with opening packs. For me, I will stick to buying singles.

One "test" i do is if i open a box am i "hoping to open XYZ" otherwise i regret it or i wont care or regret if i open the crappiest of crap?

BOX 3: 1x Batterskull 1x Mental Mistep 1x Spellskite 1x Foil Sphere of the Suns ... that was all. WORST BOXES I'VE EVER OPENED IN MY MAGIC CAREER.
