Have you noticed how many pimp threads there are out there? TMD has one, MTGS has one, The Source has one, the Commander forums has one, even Magiclibrarities has its own version.Well, now it's time for the opposite. This thread is for pictures and stories of beat-up cards you've seen or owned. Yes, I know you can't post pics if you're not a mod, but just post a link; it's not that hard. I will start with this lovely Sol Ring:

I use to own a playset of Beta Llanowar Elves that I used from day one when I started playing Magic a long long time ago. When we moved back in 2001 I lost them in the shuffle, but I can tell you that they were on par with that Sol Ring. I've seen worse, but it only brings back the memories of the good old days when nobody used card sleeves and most of the time your deck box was a rubber band.

EDIT, bored so I made some pichahs. FRONT BACK Man...I have this Ice Age Karplusan Forest. I traded for it in desperation to complete my type 2 Fires of Yavimaya Deck prior to an FNM many years ago and seriously wonder if it was ever tournament legal. It has some serious scuffing all over the edges and front of the card, but more importantly what seems to be some sort of hole through the back into the picture.
I still remember the kid I got it from...he seemed like he just graduated from pavement magic so it makes sense. I gave him a Chimeric Idol and a can of Coke if memory serves. EDIT 2: Ihateworking--DUDE, that last berserk looks like it was in someone's MOUTH.

Haha, the bottom right Berserk must be the most veteran Berserk MTG has ever seen. Even the borders are no longer straight! Quite sure if you play without sleeves any longer, the "Berseker" will literally expired before your eyes! A question, how did you play it sleeveless till this condition? Won't you/opponent know that the next card is "Berserk" just by looking the back? Or you mean you have another 59 cards in similar condition?

Nope, it doesn't have water(or saliva) damage or teeth marks, just a ton of whitening quote: Originally posted by Absurd90: I love how the eye is worn out.
Me too, its like he had a Hemorrhage mid Berserk.quote: Originally posted by MTDetermine: A question, how did you play it sleeveless till this condition? Won't you/opponent know that the next card is "Berserk" just by looking the back? Or you mean you have another 59 cards in similar condition?
I'm impressed you think I played this that much but I picked it up in this condition. I wonder these same things...

I once had a really beat UNL Mox Jet that I sold to MTDetermine back in 2008. It was about as bad as the lower right beserk. Maybe he could post a pic if he still has it.

doesnt count. that was unnaturally damaged (not just infinite playwear). I havent seen anything that bad, but 95% of the stuff in one of my LGS is EX or worse. I have no idea how pack to display case damages so many cards... __________________ "He fights you not because you have wronged him, but because you are there."[16:17] <@BrassMan> what do you need new tech for? About ten years ago (jesus christ I have been around this game for awhile...) I traded for an Ancestral Recall that had been ripped in half and taped back together. It was the pride of my collection still back then, the only time I owned one of the nine.I imagine it was the casualty of an angry opponent, one we have probably all played against, "You play that goddamn [CARD NAME] one more time and I will [ACTION ALL OUT OF PROPORTION TO A GAME].

A few years ago I bought an UL Recall that had been torn in half and taped back together. Might've been the same one. __________________ Looking for misprinted Commander decks. Got one? Talk to me.

It was a $200+ Mox Jet, right? If I do not remember wrongly, there was another Mox in that deal. Anyway, I cleared off most of my P9 in 2009 when I ran into some cashflow problems =..( The better ones were sold off. The well loved ones were traded off. Definitely do not have that piece right now.

My alpha Incinerate!(LOL) http://i51.tinypic.com/vxcf8k.jpg This card is so silky smooth it is unbeleviable. It is about the thickness of 2 sheets of paper and wants to bend when you hold it. One day I hope to get it signed just for giggles. I found it in a collection and thought it earned more respect then being in a pile of junk. Most played card with out any bends or rips that I have come across. I just wonder how many creatures and players this thing has killed.

I have one for the ages....A buddy of mine has a UL time vault that was in his shirt pocket and he left his shirt on the bed and went to take a shower, came back shirt was gone. His mom grabbed the shirt and threw it in the wash. Let's just say I have never seen a worse card (sleeve playable crinkled card). He plays it in his EDH cube and we still laugh about it. If I get a chance and he has the time I will tell him to send me a pick...

I got a washed (as in, through the washing machine) Ismaru, Hound of Konda as a throw in for a trade (valued at 10c). I sold it to a dealer for 50c, and he then placed it in the case for $8, next to an arcbound ravager in similar condition also priced at the NM price. He never sold them, but it was brilliant marketing as everyone noticed them and realized it was a joke, then often stuck around. I asked him about it and he said it was the best 50c he'd ever spent on advertising.I also have an UNL Timetwister I got from Slinga that is absolutely horrid, but it fulfilled my longtime goal of owning a piece of power. I'll try to post pictures of it later.

I had a beta underground sea that as I shuffled it the backing peeled off a little, when I was done with it it looked similar to the alpha berserk above. Lol and some web player locally has some worn out cards, his berserk is faded really bad, about the onlything still visible is the artwork.
