5-Card Blind (5CB) is a very unique game.
The rules are as follows:
* Your deck is composed of 5 cards, all of which start in your hand.
* You have no library (technically, the library exists, but starts at 0 cards) and no sideboard (Wishes fetch nothing).
* Random effects always go against the owner of the card.
* You can see your opponent's hand, so you can always make the best possible play.
* You don't lose as a result of not being able to draw a card.
* You will play each opponent twice, once going first, once going second.
* For each win, you score 3.
* For each draw, you score 1.
* For each loss, you get nothing.
* A subgame played with the card Shahrazad where neither player has any means to win the subgame will result in an incomplete game and both players will receive ZERO points for that game, since the main game cannot be resumed. Neither player loses or draws, so neither player earns any points.
* Other than the aforementioned, EVERYTHING IS HANDLED EXACTLY LIKE A REAL GAME OF MAGIC!
Remember, it is important for your deck to include a way to cast your cards! (Lands, artifact mana, pitch cards, etc.)

Be sure you really are happy with your deck before you submit. Once you send in a deck, there is no changing it except in the case of an illegal entry.
Please make every effort to spell your card names correctly. It makes it easier for everyone. Thanks.
The "Vanishing" part is the twist. To start off with, only Unglued, Unhinged and Ante cards are banned. After each round, the 5 cards in the winning deck plus any cards in more than 1/3 of the decks played will be banned for all future rounds.

Any lands that only provide mana are exempted from the banning rules. Exceptions may be made for lands which are deemed too powerful for the environment such as Mishra's Workshop and Tolarian Academy.


NO MISE DECKS!

Any deck submitted MUST have some win condition. Any deck that can do no better than a draw against any possible deck will be rejected. A deck that can't win any game is mathematically eliminated from winning the round, and thus would just be taking a chance to win away from someone who could actually have a shot.

ALL players will assist in judging. The way this will work is that after the submission period is over, After all decks are revealed, judge your own deck against every other deck (going first and going second). Post your findings here in this thread. They will be reviewed by everyone for accuracy. Once a winner is determined the winners deck will be added to the banned list and the next round will begin. Repeated failure to do your own scoring will result in suspensions!

I went so far as to use IE to try to pm you a decklist... I got some kind of internal error message. Perhaps I just shouldn't play.

LMK if there are any other acceptable methods of entry

You may use other formats as well, but this one is a must. Also PLEASE make sure you use the proper deck number for your deck. Replace the '?' on the bottom line with the number next to your name on the decklist.

Scoring:

Play your deck against each other deck twice, once with you going first, once with them going first.

Always remember that each deck is to be played perfectly.

For each of the 2 games, score 3 points if your deck wins or 1 point if the game is a draw, with no

points for a loss.

Some examples:
2 wins (WW) is 6 points.
A win and a draw (WD) is 4 points.
A win and a loss (WL) is 3 points.
2 draws (DD) is 2 points.
A draw and a loss (DL) is 1 point.

4. LemonMeringue WW. Innocent Blood takes out the Bogle and he can only delay the inevitable with two removal spells. Noxious Revival protects me against Duress.

yak: gain 1 life, play Swamp, Bitterblossom (gets Spell Pierced)
dfitz: Dwarven hold
yak: gain 1 life (22-18), play Noxious Revival, play Bitterblossom
dfitz: 1 counter on Hold, play Caverns
yak: gain 1 life, lose one life, play Bitterblossom.

From here, he can spend each turn burning away the Faerie Token and let Dwarven Hold get to a lethal number of counters before he RSZ's me. It's very similar on the draw.

6. junichi WW. I Innocent Blood away his Revoker twice and Bitterblossom lets me get past Trip Noose and still be able to block Steel Overseer.

8. ryan2754 DD. I don't dare play Bitterblossom, or he gets it, but he can't stop Innocent Blood from making him lose his creature. Commandeer and Misdirection are both poor against Innocent Blood.

9. stab107 WW. I Innocent Blood away his creature and make tokens and he can only stall once.

10. Myy WL. On the play, I Innocent Blood away his token. On the draw, he wins the first turn before I can do anything.

11. SageShadows DD. I Innocent Blood away both his creatures, but lose my Bitterblossom. Kavu Predator's Trample makes it impossible to race him by attacking and blocking.

12. edsillars DD. He plays Energy Field and nothing else to force a draw. If he plays a creature, he loses.

13. Bugger DD. I play Bitterblossom, he plays Oblivion Ring. If he tries to play Anurid Scavenger first, I play Innocent Blood and win. If he plays Mind Rot, I discard Noxious Revival and Innocent Blood and win.

i'm pretty sure this is a DD. i sit on my cards and wait till he plays blossom. if he doesn't he doesn't win and neither do i. when he does i cast primus blowing up blossom and swamp. he can only take back 1 with revival which has to be the swamp so he can cast innocent blood. if he never plays blossom but plays 2 lands the same thing happens. if he nevers plays the second land i can't play primus and we stare again.

on the draw he plays skerry. i play flash and blow it up getting a 5/5 he plays energy feild. i can't do anything to damage him. he just doesn't play any creatures or i dismemebr them so we stare.

on the play i sit on my flash mana. he plays anurid. i blow up the land then attack on my turn. he put petal or land on top and draws it. i attack again. he draws the 2nd mana source then obby rings me.

LemonMeringue, you have your deck listed as WW vs. mine. Am I missing something? I see it as me going WW. It looks like I can counter your Dismember and the Imaginary Pet is too fast for you both games. You don't have enough mana/cmc to Sickening Shoal it.


Numotflame96, vs. Magic1264 you can't blow up Torpor Orb (because of Torpor Orb.) Looks like you go LL.

I haven't graded yet, but I can just not play a land and wait until you flash it in before I start playing lands. It's a draw.

In the match against numot, I am pretty sure he can flash in Primus in game 2 and take out my Orb while Dreadnought is on the stack, but I could be wrong. In any case, in the first game I don't think he can do anything about T1 Dreadnought so right now I have it as WL but it could go to WW.
