Hey Everyone,I just sent out my first trade on here, to ReinHart, he has 116 Confirmed REFS. But just today, after I sent my stuff, I noticed he was BANNED! I'm a bit worried now that he may not send me my stuff. Can I find out why he was banned? Will he still be able to log on and find my address? When did this Happen? I'm a bit concerned, hope someone can help me!

Eeek. From the Post for Magic Stuff, Moderator Jazaray says: " Everyone! Please pass along for people NOT to send to MOTL member, reinhart! It's the return of John Strickland. He must have hacked the account. The real reinhart was from Maryland. Thanks, Jazaray"

Okay, how does that process work? Is there any way for me to stop the mail from being delivered? I didn't get Delivery Confirmation because he lives in Canada. However, I just sent today, so I'm wondering if it's possible to still track it down and stop delivery.

[/QUOTE] I thought it might be, but I checked his REFS and they were all positive at the time (and he had 116) Plus, he asked for a little more as a throw in. Btw, I was just told I could file for a Mail Recall/Reroute. I just mailed it today at Noon (Jan 30, 2012). Do you think it's still possible to get it back (even though it's going to Canada?) Does anyone know how I can do this?

He asked me to smul-send for that trade. I told him that i can send latest by this friday because i want to check about that person. After that, there are few points which made me sound fishy.-His reference is 100+, just that all these deals were at the year 2000-2003. He did not have any recent reference so far(In fact, he is actively at this forum to do trading). -He offered these cards which are in my confirmed trade list to other people at couple of thread. -His PM is very suspicious to me. Here is the PM ! quote: Yes - I did in fact send out earlier today. However, I went to delete a message and on accident - more carelessness on my part - deleted all of my messages. I find it obnoxious that we cannot see out sent messages. But what can you do. I tried to find / figure out your user name but could not.
Sorry about that. Did you send out today?Let me know, thanks ----- Original Message ----- Let me know if u sent out these stuff ! ----- Original Message ----- I do not have those throw-ins - but I will go ahead and throw in the 2 Rhystic Study You can ship to the following address: John Strickland apt 705 - 1971 St.Laurent Blvd Ottawa Ontario K1G 3P8 Canada Please followup with your address - let me know when you ship - I will be sure to do the same. Thanks!
Firstly, I can see the sent messages. Secondly, that John Strickland is a ripper(Based on CBT!). From these two answers regarding about PM, he self-pawned. Regards, CoupDeGrace __________________ If MTG is a metaphor in our lives, it will be Yawgmoth's Bargain

Actually, I traded $2000+ with a banned MOTL ex-member. Everything went smoothly. Just ensure that he send first.

When u traded during that time, what is the amount of reference/reputation that both of u had? U have to know that people do not like to send first unless u are a reputable MOTL trader, conduct third party trade or his reference is much way lower than u. For my case of trading with reinhart, he sound very fishy to me. __________________ If MTG is a metaphor in our lives, it will be Yawgmoth's Bargain

That $2000+ trade was negotiated in Dec 2011 and completed by Jan 2012. I had 320+ ref at that time. I think trading with banned members are ok as long as they are willing to send first.

I don't think it's ok to trade with someone banned for ripping. Or someone with shady, unethical trading practices. I think they should be punished with total exile. If a person wanted to make trades/sales with me and they ripped off someone on here.... there's no way in hell I'd do it. They don't deserve the curtousy. To me, they are bad karma. Now, say someone got banned for being a flooder or just always cussing or something silly like that... I don't really see the problem with that and would at least consider trading/selling to them. When you're a CBT... then you should be given the ultra-cold shoulder. You've earned it. Just my thoughts.

your best bet would be to contact the local PO in Canada, the one that would be delivering the package or letter and tell them you would like it the returned, especially if you can contact the specific carrier. He tried a trade with me but when I checked his refs no trades since like 02 threw up a red flag for me plus less than a day later Jarzay contacted me saying the account had been hacked by a known scammer. If you ever see something fishey in refs like I did, no trades for a decade then suddenly offering trades contact the mods have them check it out make sure it is legit.

Reinhart was banned because his account got hacked. John Strickland is NOT the real Reinhart.Let this be a lesson to you and all who read this: always check names against the BTA and CBT forums. __________________ *My LJ*Letter Bombs!*Facebook*Logout- I had it second!*CKGB

Too late now, I guess, but if you realize something is up the same day you mail, and you dropped the mail off at a post office, you might be able to intercept the letter while it's at the office. You can certainly do so for registered mail. The mail system isn't robust enough to intercept afterwards though.

You know what? This might be my saving Grace! (I Hope) The address he sent me was this John Strickland apt 705 - 1971 Ottawa Ontario K1G 3P8 Canada In other words, no street name. I hope that that post office will have difficulties delivering it and return it to me. Otherwise, I filled out the recall form today, I hope it saves my package

^ that's actually excellent news. That city has over a million people in it. Can't see them delivering it without a street name. __________________ |My Angels~My P9 l""|"\__, |~~My #1 Angel~~l'_|'_|_|) |(@)(@)""***|(@)(@)**|(@)

I wouldn't expect that to save you. Postal codes are fairly specific in Canada. A quick check on the Canada Post website tells me that postal code is only for a single apartment building, so they will know exactly where it is supposed to go.

Be wary of reverse-ripping (i.e. they deny they received the cards) when dealing with banned and otherwise sketchy people.

This, and simply explain the situation. I assume they will require some proof of identification. You may want to talk to the Post Master if the regular workers can't provide assistance. Good luck, I'd like to know the outcome and how this is handled.

I have a feeling that unless you stop it, he will receive the cards. I'm amazed at some of the mail that finds me. I'm interested to hear if there is a way of stopping mail in transit. I'm so sorry. this just reminds me that while all my transactions on this site have been excellent, you always have to remember to do your due diligence. I can't see how anyone could feel good trading with someone who ripped another person off on this site, regardless of their willingness to send first.

Do you know how I can find out what office to contact?? I'm not familiar with the Canadian postal system. Btw, I just called the Canada Post and I asked them about possibley intercepting my package. They said I couldn't do it normally, IF I filed for Mail Fraud, they could stop it. Does anyone know exactly how do this? I already called USPS and filed a MailFraud report with them, but I'm not sure if I need to do anything else.
