Guess I'm the only person who likes playing with an Oversized Commander, they are bigger so they hit harder!EDIT: Also more room to alter them

you probably are ;p They just take up too much space on the table, can't shuffle them in, the enchant/equip thing previously mentioned, and beyond that they are hard to carry around unless you get one of those super awkward deck boxes. quote: Originally posted by revenger: Is there gonna be any NEW cards(commanders/lands for edh decks...etc) or is it all reprints?
fairly sure its all reprinted otherwise we'd have been told about new cards being in there to drive the hype.

Never understood the claim that they can't be shuffled into your deck... slam any card in a sleeve to represent your general, but chances are you already have a normal sized version of your general anyway.I can see table space being an issue for some people. The equipment/aura thing doesn't make sense to me, I always stack equipment and aura's under cards and only have their name showing anyway. My next plan is too make an Oversized Ghave life-counter so send any you guy's don't want my way .

I just whipped up a fake foil Ghave for me to use. Its better then playing with the oversized one or some nonfoil card.

What did you do pull the foil of an old Urza's Legacy Card? Got a pic?

I just acetoned some random card and printed directly onto the foil. My printer's quality isn't the best when printed on foil so it looks passable, but not great. If I wanted it to look nicer I'd use the window cling or transparency method but then it would be thicker and take way more effort.

You are way out of line. Insults like that will not be tolerated on MOTL. Once more and you're gone.

Wow, that got deleted quick, must have been what? 2 minutes? Even the stuff that wasn't insulting but proved him wrong got deleted. But I must apologize for my lack of intelligence. Had I known that you stu, are royalty, I would have never used logic to argue with you. I am nothing compare to you. I am but a noble servant of your great empire, please don't exile me. If I haven't mentioned before, your poo don't stink, your poo don't stink

Stop ruining the post.. If the rest of this set is only foiled legends from the Original Commander decks am I the only one who'd be picking this up? __________________ Member Since 03/28/2001 12000+ posts 1st in posts in Ontario 2nd in posts in Canada 10th in posts on MOTL 5th in Refs in Ontario Pushing to get to top 100 in MOTL Refs

QFT on the first count. As for the second, you might be. I'm a heavy EDH player in that when I do play magic, it's almost always EDH, but I don't play it enough to justify dropping loads of cash on it. I mean, I have a fair amount of staples, but I acquired each and every one of them by penny-pinching, not by coughing up the money they command (heh, pun). I was hoping that this Arsenal product would be more of an intermediary between the obsessive EDH players (the kinds of folks who freely run P3K generals, as an example) and folks who are getting introduced to the format (which the Commander decks of last summer were ideal for). Something that was maybe forty to fifty dollars and featured utilitarian (ie nonfoil, non-oversized) copies of pricier EDH staples. With the reveal of the product as it stands, I'm disappointed to realize that i'm not it's target audience at all, and I probably won't be picking this up after all. Oh well. :/ __________________ It is a known fact that more Americans watch the television than any other appliance.

You guys really think that FoW will be in this?I say it's about time for a reprint. It's kinna like before they brought back Lightning Bolt. (Although, that prolly seriously irritated 'slinga due to him having that massive ammount of foil shocks )

I am leaning more towards Wasteland than any other card that has significant value to be reprinted....also random Portal cards like any of the Time Warp Variants or random Tutors. I DONT see any card worth more than $40 being included in this.

Judge foil command towers already clear 55 on ebay, and unless this "limited" print run sees a higher volume than the PDS series, I imagine the Arsenal foil Command tower to be at least 25. That, plus the foil sylvan alone is near 50, leaving the other 16 cards to make up another 25 in value. This is where the beauty of the high MSRP comes in - it establishes a baseline value for a lot of these "first time in foil" cards, especially the generals. It's a big reason why Scavenging Ooze has it's current price point. I'm just hoping that this arsenal print isn't using the same foil process as the PDS series - whatever printing company was responsible for that crap needs to go bankrupt.

My feelings on this thing are mixed. I like the inclusion of the sleeves, but the $75 price point is really high. After the sleeves are taken into account, that's $65 for only 18 cards, of which it sounds like I already have half of them in non-foil. I own every card spoiled so far. That just isn't worth my money. It's not even a deck I can play. The rest of the stuff that comes with it... don't like it.

Guessing if FoW get reprinted it will be judge foil before this. I use it in one of my EDH decks but it it that big of an EDH card?

FoW doesn't seem like it has anything to do with Commander and I doubt it's in this set. It's actually one of the last counter spells I'd even run in a commander deck. As far as Wasteland goes, I think probably more likely to be in FTV: Realms. I'd expect to see a tutor in this set.. perhaps demonic, vampiric, worldy, enlightened..

I'm hoping it's just previously un-foiled cards. But the Command Tower makes that unlikely.

Correct. They said at the comic-con panel that this would be reprints, but starting next year they would be printing new cards specifically made for commander. Apparently the response for the commander decks completely blew them away and they weren't originally planning on printing more commander stuff any time time.

How so? When was the last time a card was introduced in a foil-only manner?

Basic stores are only getting 2, premium stores only get 4. This make Commander Arsenal much Rarer than From the Vaults. Its already $75. This is already a disappointing and missmarketed product. It was suppose to tide the Commander Players over until the next Commander Decks, but 90% of those that play commander won't be able to afford it, let alone find it in stores. It has all this fluff of counters and sleeves, but those that probably finagle an afford a preorder are not those that would need or necessarily want this fluff. I'm just confused and disappointed. My area (4 shops) is already sold out or going by lotto or giving the option of buying as a tournament prize. The Shop owners seem quite angry as well because the supply is so limited and demand is already so high.

FoW would be less than ideal in Commander, as are counterspells in general. I forget where I read it, but in 1v1 counterspells are 1 for 1. In a typical 1v1v1v1 match, a countersepll is 1:1:0:0, which is massive card disadvantage. Add the pitch card and it's 2:1:0:0. I would think combo would be the only archtype to run it. And FoW isn't much of a "casual" card that Commander claims to cater to. I would love the idea of Wasteland, however. Maze of Ith would be super sweet as well, despite its presence in FTV. quote: Originally posted by CordKt129:

If this is true, I'm super disappointed in this as well. Do we have a release date yet? The Soup

The most exciting thing about the box set so far is the cool spin down. The oversized foil cards are a waste of space, as are the sleeves.

Once more I get angry at a secondary market and a parent company that will sell an item at a wholesale price based around an MSRP and a reasonable markup, and then the store decides to just arbitrarily write in another several hundred percent profit with no penalty or issue.
