They said the oversized commanders were really popular! WTF.... I have never seen anybody use those. There so cumbersome and annoying to transport. I just hate the fact there is such a small printing. I wont be able to obtain one of these or even afford the singles I want when it is released.

We aren't going to find out a lot about nouveaux for the time being. I don't know specific reasons for this, but the general one seems solid. I like nouveaux's style so far, I will say that. __________________ *My LJ*Letter Bombs!*Facebook*Logout- I had it second!*CKGB

Maybe because, I don't know, they are? I'm sure your anecdotal experience is even halfway equivalent to the comprehensive market research of an actual company. Why didn't they ask AGO whether continuing to print oversized cards was a good idea? Big mistake, wizards. __________________ It is a known fact that more Americans watch the television than any other appliance.

Didn't catch a price...if FTV sets start at $34.99 MSRP, I assume it will be more than that with having more cards and the extras...perhaps $49.99?

MSRP is $75, but good luck finding them that cheap.

Has anyone else followed up on the availability?Last thing I saw said it was EXTREMELY limited like 1-2 per store? I just checked out ebay and right now it's looking like 200-300$ to pre-order.

I don't think a lot of people use them. I used mine a bit when they first came out, but it's just easier to use the small cards. If you read through the article he mentions the reserved list. Printing the oversized cards gives them a loophole to reprint some cards that otherwise would not ever be reprinted. (Karn and Sliver Queen in this set)
I'm not saying that is the only reason they make the big cards but Its something to think about.

I wish they had included a proxy card for your oversized commander. Something like the Double sided card proxies.

Are you dense? Try to keep up: Wizards of the coast is a business. Businesses are motivated to turn a profit. Ergo, wizards is motivated to turn a profit. Selling things that players want to buy increases profits. Conversely, selling things players do *not* want to buy does *not* increase profits. Any action that does not increase profits necessarily implies a loss in potential profits, as it diverts resources from actions that *do* generate profits. Ergo, wizards sells things that players want, and if they repeatedly offer a product, it therefore correlates that said product is desired among the player base. You don't know of anyone who plays with oversized cards, or likes them. Now here's the million dollar question: is your own personal tightly limited experience so incredibly important that it makes more sense to invalidate everything outlined above? Do you somehow know wizards' entire customer base better than they do, despite you having no incentive to do so and no method of data collection other than passive, incidental observation? Or maybe (god forbid!), you're wrong about something? And not even something that's a big deal, either, like Iran or the national economy or life-altering surgery. Just about why a card company would choose to offer an ancillary product. Your insecurity is mind-boggling.

Wizards has done market research and found out that yes, oversized foils are popular to a lot of casual players. They even said that they wouldn't make them if they weren't popular.AGO, you have t to realize that MOTL's population is a very small and niche segment of the Magic playing population. So while we don't like the oversized foils, there are certainly many other people who do.

This kinda bothers me, because I wish they'd just plain say how flawed that reserved list really is. karn and Sliver Queen is fine because nobody really cares... but snow covered duals. Nop, out of the question. I believe we'll eventually see these or a similar item, but that's for a whole other topic. neways, just kinda shows how they don't really take the reserved list too seriously.

It is either 3 or 5 per store, depending on their level. __________________ My 2008 Nationals The Official Tower Magic Facebook Page hilikuS: Also, as much as MAB's list has become the list on the T/A Forum, I do miss Slinga's.

It is very limited. The larger stores get 5.
