Kinda dont like the art, but im glad to see then back. Been saying they would be back for the last 2 years. Now im right. Looking forward to a new legendary creature for my EDH sliver, kinda hard to beat one that lets you search though.

I'm assuming you have cards from those sets though. So, someone had to buy the packs those came from before you bought/traded for the singles. Core sets are not really aimed at experienced players. They have tried to broaden the appeal in recent years by adding in new cards with each release, but most players I know pass them up anyway outside of maybe a draft or two. __________________

Hoping, of course, that it's a 1/1 and not a 1/0 or something. But then again the unwashed masses might be confused if it's a 1/0.

Seems like it. Unless it's better than Muscle Sliver. And, hey, it's newer and has limbs, so it should defend itself better, right? =/
I can't decide whether staying in green for sliver pumps is preferable to diversifying to white. But I'd be sorely tempted to run all 12 Muscle-y slivers for giggles. __________________

I chuckled to myself when I thought of something yesterday. People like tribes and people like tribal lords. Slivers are the Xzibit result of that popularity, "Yo dawg, I know you love lords and tribes so we made a tribe that is all lords, so now you can get more lords in your tribe."Poor metallic sliver.

So it looks like we are getting more new slivers. One noticeable difference is that these slivers will be some ability only for all slivers that you control where all slivers before were for abilities for all slivers so Predatory Sliver is much like Muscle Sliver but very different as well. I don't see Sliver Queen coming back but 2 potential reprints could be Sliver Legion from Future Sight and Sliver Overlord from Scourge if they introduce gold cards into a core set.

Some of the new slivers look like Aliens(Battle and Blur), some look like Predators(Striking), and some look like crackheads(Steelform and Sentinel). I find it interesting how they can look so different from one another despite the fact they are all slivers. I understand they have evolved, but they should still all look fairly similar.I know they haven't spoiled much so far, but my fav so far is Kalonian Tusker. Simple 2 green for a 3/3.

They seem fun to draft, i might try it. Typically core sets just are boring though. I prefer to be involved in a new plane for a period of more than a few months.Striking sliver has a tail? Or is it just the crap art? Steelform, Sentinel and Battle look amazing. Battle looks too much like a Predator so loses some points with, but i love four armed creatures. __________________

The more new slivers that are spoiled, the more I hate them. How on earth is that supposed to be a sliver rather than a treefolk or something of the sort? It doesn't even look like a Predator, like its M14 compatriots!
I guess people can just alter them to look like proper slivers. But man, that's a lot of work to fix a crappy design decision. Or whatever it was that resulted in these monstrosities. How are new players supposed to even figure out what a sliver is? They certainly can't just eyeball 'em!.

I hate to think that new players will think *THESE* new slivers are what slivers are supposed to look like and dismiss the original minimalistic slivers we older folk came to love.

Is there a reason why this is not templated as a 6/6 that gives all other Slivers +3/+3? Are they trying to keep wording consistent? Is there some corner-case advantage I am missing?

Because nearly all slivers, if not all slivers, have the "All slivers" line? See Sinew Sliver, etc.

All Slivers, not all Slivers you control, which appears to be the new way they are running Slivers. I'm just not sure why this isn't utilizing the same te plating as other Anthem effects on a tribal creature.
