So I downloaded the M2014 game on Steam last night. It's pretty fun and the game play is an improvement over previous versions, namely being able to remove any card from the precon decks for a change.

I'm a little ticked with it though. For some reason, the art and color borders on the cards are not showing up right now.

New Chandra is spoiled. Best Chandra yet? +1 seems good for aggro decks and provides a little bit of protection. +0 useful almost all the time, especially so with something like Melek. -7 seems good for a burn deck.

Her <0> has some interesting applications not normally seen in red. Playing a land off the top of the library, abusing library manipulation, etc. I'm actually hoping a grixis walkers list may come about with liliana of the dark realms, chandra, and Jace AoT. Loads of value, decent removal/bounce, etc.

Now that the full set is revealed, the set seems to be really weak.

a friend of mine is walking around with an m14 doom blade in his binder. Anyone see any cards distributed already? I'm confused as to how he got it.

I'm glad for once. Standard needs to pump the brakes a bit on blitzkrieg cards and decks. It's also an M set....and it also has Mutavault. Would be perfect if Remand was in it too....but we're never gonna see a decent counter in Standard ever again.

Spell pierce would be totally fine for standard, and also quite awesome. So would rune snag. I have a feeling that a lot of sexy countermagic will be popping up once tiago leaves standard. I mean, doom blade + snapcaster is already going to be a defining corner of standard for the next 3 months.

The promo packs for DOTP14 have M14 cards.

edit: My opinion, The mana cost/activiation is going to keep it a casual card, but I can the feel the combos coming.

I don't usually say this but M14 seems bad, outside of like maybe 11 cards total, rest is meh, and this is from a all formats perspective...

I feel the same. I have always liked the core sets but this one just seems watered down. For this being the 20th anniversary of MTG it just seems like they could of done something special at least.
