I answered an ad in Craigslist. Owner wanted to sell his MTG Beta Booster Box. I replied to him. Though no crime has or was comitted, I firmly believe it is a scam. When asked to furnish current pics with a piece of paper with my eBay username, or the current date on each one,,,, Could NOT/would NOT produce. Obvioulsy he does not have the box!! I was messaged by three eBay Buyers that stated they would buy immediately, when they saw new pics. I eben told Jen Cheng that..... needless to say, I cancelled auction. I am an honorable man, have no intention of being involved in some sort of scam. Apologize for wasting anyone's time that view the eBay auction ad... live and learn.__________________ Do it right, and be done with it

It means you should organize your grammar and words into a coherent thought so we know what you're trying to say. It sounds like you tried selling a product on ebay you didn't have and want to apologize on this forum for anyone that might have seen it. Sound about right?

He does not own it. These auction pop up every day. And he sends the same message to everyone with the same pics. People trying to buy know better and that's why they asked for different pics. The guy has been doing this for a while now. Send all info you have to the authorities if you'd like. It would help in trying to get the douche.

I think people would say Jen Cheng /Daniel Chang (another alias - not the one from MTG Stores on Ebay, but another impostor), was trying to scam you. He tries the same scam with beta boxes. Someone posted a link to either You Tube or Facebook on here somewhere on what he looks like.Never trust anyone without seeing/having/knowing the person and the product. Good luck...Greg

He makes you sell an imaginary box and send him X amount of money and says the "box" will be shipped. You then never hear from him and are on the hook for the refund. Paypal will not stop the refund for being naive. Don't know how you didn't see this as beta boxes don't exist on the market.

But, if you send no money till Buyer leaves positive feedback,,then its all good. I know next to nothing of the MTG game. Looks very interesting though!__________________ Do it right, and be done with it

Yes I guess if you hold the money until the buyer receives then your good but if Cheng says he won't ship until he gets money what do you do...

I don't understand, how does anyone fall for this? Does it ever enter the person getting scammed's mind "why doesn't this guy just sell the box for himself?"

Seems like Cheng or one of his buddies wanted to see if we were aware of his diabolical plan...

All he'd have to do is search everything we've posted about him in the past http://classic.magictraders.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/026208.html http://classic.magictraders.com/ubb/Forum5/HTML/000843.html
