Yea less than half spoiled and we have some pretty darn good reprints. Will conspiracies be legal in commander?

Yes, pending any changes by the EDH team that decides bans. __________________ I shall have the souls of all who defy me. "Lord Crovax"

Most likely legal in the same way that Planechase planes and Archenemy schemes are legal. If your group agrees to them in advance, then there's probably no reason to exclude them. The one exception might be Worldknit. It seems a little overpowered outside of a limited environment. The other ones spoiled so far seem a little "meh" in a singleton format. __________________ Wisconsin - smells like dairy air!I collect Granite Gargoyles. Send them my way.

Just how Mirri is overpowered in Vanguard cube. Most of the draft ability cards are pretty intense for cube, the only one I might put in mine is Lore Seeker. It can be played in affinity or other aggro and adding a booster pack to the draft that you get to first pick is nice to spice things up.

No not likely other then if your play group lets them. They are pretty OP since there are no limits to how many you can play. They were designed for limited pools not constructed. Cube is where I think you will start seeing these.

I don't doubt that the set will make draft interesting, but I'm not a huge fan of the conspiracies, and I have to say that the set feels awfully gimmicky as a whole.__________________ "I have heard the mermaids singing, each to each. I agree. I would also be fairly unhappy if I was a new player and open a conspiracy as a rare and was told that I can't actually play it in ANY format

You will not get a "conspiricy" card as your rare or common or uncommon. The conspiricies are part of the "draft-ability" cards They are 1 per pack and replace the basic land scroll about 2/3 of the way down to the "lets draft" section http://www.wizards.com/Magic/Magazine/Article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/feature/300b

Can't find the ruling thread so I'll ask here:Are conspiracy type cards legal in Modern, and if so, how do they work?

The 13 Conspiracy cards are banned in all formats except Conspiracy, essentially. Edit: unsanctioned or casual formats can modify as they see fit, naturally. But you won't ever see them at a Modern FNM fo example.

Only standard legal regular sets are legal for modern anyways.

Only modern leg a reprints in this set are legal in modern. The rest is legal in legacy and vintage minus the 13 conspiracies. At least that's what I've heard.

as above, none of these cards will be modern legal, unless they are already modern legal. __________________ "He fights you not because you have wronged him, but because you are there."<crypticfreak1> jazaray got ahold of me. he also had a hard time finding the email. <Jazaray> She...

That's not correct. Did you mean to say something else and it didn't come out right? Standard- current core set (this will be M15 next), current block, previous core set, previous block Modern- 8th Edition forward, non rotating. __________________ *My LJ*Letter Bombs!*FB*Logout- MM is a copycat! It's pretty obvious that he meant sets that in their time were standard-legal, as opposed to sets such as Conspiracy and Commander that are released occasionally. __________________ There's no need to fear, UNDERDOG is here! All your Gruul Nodorogs are belong to me. ^ Like any other non-precon set, why wouldn't there be. Would also be weird if the promo was the only foil.

Why? What were you expecting? edit: Stifle and Pernicious Deed are quite noteworthy as reprints. Misdirection is nice too, as is Reflecting Pool.

I will admit the C/UC selection has a few stinkers, but it a set designed with limited in mind. The R/M picks are pretty sweet though. There are a number of cards in here I've been dying to get in foil. __________________ Wisconsin - smells like dairy air!I collect Granite Gargoyles. Send them my way.

I guess I was expecting more modern staples to get reprinted. As of first glance I see nothing that is modern legal that is played reprinted. Some of the foils will be nice and aside from a few chase legacy/edh cards it didn't impress. Especially the un/Commons.
