This set isn't that great....but given the fact it has foil Brainstorm, Deed, Exploration, Stifle, Misdirection, and STP it's by default the best set in a long time value wise.....just doesn't look fun to play at all. Un-glued 3.0 Just looks like a gigantic headache and almost have to have 6 people to make it fun. I know you can get away w 4 but 4 seems too small....and it's not everyday I can get 6+ for a draft.
Should change name from "conspiracy" to "gimmick"...at least sealed boxes seem to have great long term value.

I wouldn't say un-glued 3.0, but perhaps Chronicles 2.0. There are some stars in there, but some duds as well.

Not even remotely Unglued 3 or Chronicles 2... really now.And you generally need 6-8+ for any draft to be effective... Fortunately for most good stores you can swing 6-8 people for a draft... Or even a lot more In any case, like any other set, you are free to crack the packs, play pack wars, light them on fire, or even draft and play 1v1 without conspiracies or extra draft mechanics.

I really wish there was some way to do it with a smaller group (3-5 people) in an effective manner. This seems like a format which really appeals to some of the casual players and female players I know. But it is hard to get 6-8 of these people free at the same time and getting them to go to a game store is not realistic either.

How about the overall set value? I see some pretty awesome stuff. Worth buying a couple boxes and cracking one/storing one?

This is a value no-brainer like Modern Masters. Sit on as much as you are comfortable with. Even if they overprint it, in 2-3 years it will be hard to find.

What's wrong with drafting 3 person? I draft cube 3 person every Friday, sometimes it's 4 people, and we just play multiplayer free for all. I suppose if you only want to do 1v1s then having less people is not optimal. And sure with less people you can pretty much figure out who took what from the packs, but who cares? It's a casual home game. I even draft the cube 1v1 often (there's many methods to draft this way). This is a card game, there are no rules for how you can enjoy it outside of tournaments. Wish granted.

Initial orders were extremely limited like Modern Masters. Stores are worried that they won't be able to get more.

Which is absurd given how some places are talking about having gotten 30+ cases, this set isn't close to being as limited as Modern Master, not by any stretch of the imagination... __________________ I shall have the souls of all who defy me. "Lord Crovax"

So in conclusion, it's fun enough, but possibly best only in small doses.

Phage the unplayable? ick. Btw, are booster packs going to be available in common department stores? (wal mart, Target, etc) __________________ 28th in refs on Motl! #1 Ref's for Arizona! I liked drafting it but hated playing it. I am a staunch opponent of anything other than 1v1. __________________ *My LJ*Letter Bombs!*FB*Logout- MM is a copycat! (So am I)*CKGB

I like multiplayer once in a while. It's less fun above 4 ppl (too slow and boring). It was a bummer one game where three friends were in the game and ganged up on me. But c'est la vie.

I liked the draft and the play of the set. I drafted twice, and both times I ended up going for Vent Sentinels and other defenders. The first time I didn't pick this strategy until halfway through pack two, but I ended up with six Vent Sentinels and two or three Cinder Walls. The second draft I opened up Dack Fayden P1P1, so I knew that this was a good option again. I ended up with three or four Vent Sentinels, two Minamo Scroll Keepers, a couple Cinder Walls and the Conspiracy that gives you a 1/1 defender Sentinel token at the start of the game. Dack really helped to dig for the cards that I needed, so I got a great board state. Having two active Vent Sentinels that can each be activated for 5 damage was a great incentive for people to attack other players, and also meant that it was easy to close out the game when it was down to two players. Pack one when I opened Dack I also had a foil Marchesa, which made for a tough pick, but considering that Dack helped me win three packs I guess it was the right call.

I find that the Vent Sentinel strategy paints a target on the player who runs it.

The fun level of this is very high for me. I enjoyed the draft (Spent $30 because i added a Modern Masters pack). The value in the packs isn't that high though. We had 10 people and pulled nothing worth the near box.__________________ Member Since 03/28/2001 12000+ posts 1st in posts in Ontario and Canada 9th in posts on MOTL 5th in Refs in Ontario Pushing to get to top 100 in MOTL Refs
