one of mine was about 10 years ago there was a card shop in my town...had a box of 50 cent singles and i snagged a few cards from legends out of there...one of which being Karakas. i just grabbed it for my black/white legacy deck because of its second ability is just so useful...little did i know then it would reach 100 bucks (tcg mid price) in value! too bad urborg isnt nearly as useful as i snagged that the same day!

also i once traded a guitar i paid about 100 dollars for for a deck that contained 4xForce of Will in NM condition...couldnt ask for cards in better shape!

Yeah cuz dealers don't have overhead and stuff.

i fail to see how i ripped someone off..they wanted a guitar and i traded them a damn good one. just because i paid a little for it doesnt mean i fleeced them or it wasnt worth anything...and the card shop had the karakas in its 50 cent bin and it wasnt worth nearly as much then as it is now. i suppose because ive actually found two mind seize decks at wal mart for 30 rather than paying the 80 bucks the card shop is charging for them makes me a bad person too?

yes in the end these probably worked out in my favor (the guitar one is really debatable, it was worth more than 4xForce of wills are even now) but that isnt that what we hope for every single time you open a pack and hope for a mutavault? you hope that your 4 bucks turns into more! is that fleecing the store you bought it from?

its not a brag thread but EVERY SINGLE SOLITARY magic play i know gets a rush from snagging a great card whether its from a pack, a trade, or just a great deal. yet you sit here on some sort of throne and judge like you wouldnt still buy a karakas for 50 cents today even tho its worth 200 times that now.

well then i must not simply remember the old ones perhaps...but im pretty sure ive had this same exact name before and ive never been banned and always been a trustworthy and fun trader...im 99% positive they did a clean up at one point.

to follow up on this i DID find one of my old accounts and it only has 22 refs so i must have had one before or after that because ive had well over 50 at one point in time. like i said im damn near positive there was a cleanup at one point...

and secondly i felt i also made it clear im not trying to impress anyone nor brag just tell some fun stories and everyone just piled on. i dont need to impress you to get some sort of fulfillment i just wanted to start a conversation which obviously no one around here can handle for some backwards reason. you think i honestly need your approval to feel good about myself? no i just wanted to talk cards and see what others have come across. i do this with strangers all the time at tourneys and ive heard some cool stories by doing so, and i had a desire to do so with you folks before it turned into some sort of flame-fest.
