Stratus dancer pretty awesome. Megamorph makes me think of Power Rangers or something...

Dragon Tempest is pretty awesome as well. Sidisi's little tutor is pretty cool as well.

I almost LOL'd when I read "megamorph". First, the name is silly. Second, +1/+1 is hardly "mega". Third, it's almost redundant with morph and complicates describing the rules to new players.

This seems like a "new world order" fail. I'm looking forward to reading the article.

http://magic.wizards.com/en/articles/archive/making-magic/imagine-dragons-part-1-2015-03-02

After reading the article it seems like they should have just made all the morphs in Dragons get a +1/+1 counter when they flip up but they felt they had to make a "new" mechanic.

I'm definitely not saying the sky is falling, but when the next few blocks show a return of "mega-cycling" "mega-landfall" we know the end is in sight.

Dragon Tempest has some nice flavor and the cmc is excellent. It will probably replace Fires of Yavimaya in my Karrthus EDH deck. Having that out when I fire off Living Death or Patriarch's Bidding is just going to be awesome.

Silumgar and his ilk will be an interesting mythic cycle. I like the update on him as well.

I'm interested to see the rest of the redone Khans khans.

Megamorph is a horrible name that feels very out of place in MTG. They should have been able to come up with a much better name or just stapled on the +1/+1 to the turned face up trigger.

I'm one or two keywords away. Somebody said if magic died, it wouldn't be them reusing old abilities it would be them trying to introduce old abilities as new abilities.

Example:

Megamorph vs morph, Strive vs Multikicker.

Love the new Sidisi. Diabolic Intent on a 4/6 body is sick.

Thunderbreak Regent
2RR
Creature-Dragon
Flying
Whenever a Dragon you control becomes
the target of a spell or ability an opponent
controls, Thunderbreak Regent deals 3
damage to that player.

I get the feeling that all or almost all the Khan leaders are killed off and turned to zombies.

There's no reason they had to call morph something new like "mega morph". It sounds dumb just saying it. Its nothing new. There were already creatures in the past that had trigger abilities as you turn them face up. Tribal forcemage from legions was a good example of that which gave creatures of they type of your choice +2/+2 and trample until end of turn.

I get the reasoning behind it; putting the +1/+1 counter into the reminder text on Megamorph lets you save space on cards without the reminder text, while also letting you put another ability on the card. Otherwise, every megamorph card would be stuck with a block of text;

Morph (reminder text for Morph)

When [Cardname] is turned face up, put a +1/+1 counter on it and (megamorph ability).

Just seems more streamlined to give it its own keyword. I do agree that it needed a better name, however.

Megamorph sounds so ridiculous. Being aesthetically pleasing due to alliteration is one thing but really, even something like supermorph would have sounded better. Blah.

One of the recent Uncharted Realms had Zurgo back as "Zurgo Bellstriker," so probably not all dead...just subservient to dragons now.

The new Sidisi is fantastic. I might actually put her in my modern Sultai rock deck, so I can cheat her out early to serve as a combo enabler (searching for pieces that might be 1x or 2x in the deck) + bulky deathtouch wall.

The thought of using her exploit ability to sacrifice a Solemn Simulacrum or Thragtusk just makes me giddy.

From what I have seen so far, I think this set compliments Khans and Fate Reforged rather well especially for drafts.

I'm going to make doubling season work in modern one day, and Narset is going to be there beside me.

Lard hand size matters was awesome if you had the rat or the goblin on turn 2/3. Then you got an awesome under-curve first striker or fear creature. Otherwise it stunk.

What I meant was, you get abilities called bushido and ninjitsu. Americans love them some ahistorical Japaneseness. Not much different than "mega morph".
