My refs are gone as well.  EDIT: Actually, if you look at the member list and sort by "Top 25 posters" you'll see that most of them have no refs. __________________

My refs were wiped, anyway I can get them back soon would be greatly appreciated.

Hmmmm, refs and PMs stored on same server? Or is it all one server?I donno if there's a correlation between PMs/Refs and Lists, but perhaps there is one between PMs and Refs?

BTW people who had issues with their ref list who were banned and then unbanned (ala irsih31) who was unbanned but when you clicked his refs it said "This user is banned" has now been fixed. I don't know if any other members had this problem but good on it. __________________

Most ref lists will be fixed overnight. Leshrac is only hand-fixing ref lists for those who have requested it. __________________

And there's absolutely, positively no way that my H/W list can be either restored, or even just the text data from it can be sent to me so I can re-create it?I'm not complaining, I love MOTL, and I greatly appreciate the services provided here. I'm just really bummed about having to spend another couple hours typing all of that stuff out. If its really not in any way possible, I understand. But I'd greatly greatly greatly greatly appreciate if anything could be done.

Hi,
I've lost my reference list also and was wondering how we would actually back up our list? I do have copies of all MOTL private messages regarding my completed trades.

Backing up references is easy. What you do is go to the references page, then just go to File, Save Page As, then save them to your computer. Update it once a month or so.__________________

Isn't there a site called the way back machine or something of that sort that can capture some of the old information like refs and posts? It might help as a last resort if your refs list isn't saved.__________________

As an absolute last resort, it might be okay, but you're still going to lose a lot. The most recent ref list that the Wayback Machine has for me is from February of last year, over 50 refs ago. __________________

I'm in the same boat. I honestly don't care if they never come back(although over 180+ refs would be annoying to lose) seing as I hardly ever trade anymore, mostly sell stuff, and usually have regular members buyin gthings from me time and time again so they know I'm good for it. Would be nice to get them back tho

All the ref lists should be restored now. You may notice that some people on your list don't have the correct number of refs displayed next to their name. Don't worry, this should be fixed after tomorrow's update.Also, just FYI, all ref lists are backed up daily, so if you ever have a problem with your list, just let me know and I can restore for you. Of course, there's always the possibility that the backups get corrupted, etc., so having your own backups is never a bad idea.

Not sure if it happened with everybody or not but I had 2 ref checks sent out the day before the server was switched. When my refs came back up today, the unconfirmed refs were gone. I just resent them and everything looks good to go now.If you sent out any ref checks the were unconfirmed before the server went down, I would highly recommend resending them. Leshrac, can you confirm what will happen with the unconfirmed refs if the person on the other end fills out the ref check and it is not listed as a unconfirmed ref? EDIT: Nevermind. One of the ref checks came back aok. Question answered.

I had the same thing happen and sent out a re-check. I'm not sure, but think that it would give them a message that the old ref-check is no longer valid, since the server shouldn't have a record of that code that was sent out anymore, much like what happens when they expire normally. __________________

That's basically correct. If you delete an unconfirmed ref the unique code sent to the ref becomes invalid, so it's safe to send another.

OK I don't know if this has been said b4 or not. but I can't check the forums at work. It keeps displaying the " we're moving everything to the new server" message. But here at home Its fine.
at work, I can check out prices and rules and stuff, just not the forums? NE idea why? and how to help me out. because the forums don't dissapear in the morning and come back at 5 right?

Your work may be doing DNS caching, which hasn't been updated with the new server's IP address. You'll have to talk with someone in IT at your work in order to get it resolved.
