also, i have a problem that i think not many people know of. I think sometimes there is a lag depending on the region u live in. Occasionally(quite frequently), i can see a that someone has posted a new post, from the "Last Post", however when i click the link, i cannot see his message, until a few hours later or 1-2 days? Sometimes, it happens to my posts, and unabling me to edit my posts.

NE idea why? and how to help me out. because the forums don't dissapear in the morning and come back at 5 right?
Your work may be doing DNS caching, which hasn't been updated with the new server's IP address. You'll have to talk with someone in IT at your work in order to get it resolved.[/QUOTE]ummm.... I dont think I can, cause we're not even suppsoed to be looking at MOTL isn't tehre anything I can do on my own? If not, then I guess good bye GD

I got an email saying that one of my auctions ended with no bids. Up until today, I hadn't had any auctions going for quite some time.Just thought I'd throw that out there. ~MM __________________ [Help me PIMP my Slide!] [Join Us,or DIE!][Refs][Me] [Werewolf 9!][My Brute!]I am MeddlingMage...YOUR Motl Survivor 11 Champion and 2007 Captain N award winner, and I approve this siggy!

This is usually because of page caching. Check to make sure that your browser is set to reload the page each time. It could also be something that is being done by your ISP to reduce bandwidth overhead. __________________ There's no need to fear, UNDERDOG is here! All your Gruul Nodorogs are belong to me. I used to have problems with this as well. Dumb as it sounds, hitting "refresh" when you're viewing the thread should solve the problem.

The refresh thing doesnt work. I have been to many forums(local) w/o this problem at all.

It sounds like your ISP or your browser could be caching the page. Try clearing your browser cache and refreshing. If that doesn't work, contact your ISP. MOTL uses static HTML pages instead of the dynamic PHP pages that most other forums use, which could be why you only have the problem on MOTL.

If you're allowed to, you could manually edit your hosts file to point to the new server, but I highly doubt you would be allowed to do that at work. It looks like you'll just have to wait it out.

Another way to trick your browser (and all the upstream places that cache pages) into thinking that it needs to get a new copy of the page is to add "?r=987" to the end of the URL (without the quotes). You can replace 987 with any random number. Be sure to put this right after the ".html" of the URL and before any "#60".Why this works: This means nothing to an HTML page, but to the browser it looks like a completely different page address, so it won't find it in the cache. __________________ Everyone you meet is going through something * BoltBait is the official holder of the MOTL Logout Button [Trades] [Rules] [FAQ] [Prices] [Card Searches] [Tools] [WotC] [Dominoes] [Art] [#MOTL Chat] [Logout]

So Bolty, if I'm at work and MOTL is blocked I can put that in and it will let me in?~MM __________________ [Help me PIMP my Slide!] [Join Us,or DIE!][Refs][Me] [Werewolf 9!][My Brute!]I am MeddlingMage...YOUR Motl Survivor 11 Champion and 2007 Captain N award winner, and I approve this siggy!

Nope. That's just a way to trick the cache to go grab a new version of the page. To do that, try something like http://htmlblock.co.uk/anonymous_web_browser/ (I've never used them, so I don't know if they are any good. There are others, just google "Free Anonymous Surfing" or something like that.) __________________ Everyone you meet is going through something * BoltBait is the official holder of the MOTL Logout Button [Trades] [Rules] [FAQ] [Prices] [Card Searches] [Tools] [WotC] [Dominoes] [Art] [#MOTL Chat] [Logout]

I would worry, about the reason your employer blocked motl (other sites). Violating the work website policy through trickery can get one fired.

Notice a problem with the ad for motl shirts, appears to no longer work...not sure if this is a new server error or what.

I no longer receive an e-mail notification when I get a PM. I have the proper setting enabled in the preferences. Is this a legit issue? Thanks, --Evil __________________ I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds. Living is easy with eyes closed, misunderstanding all you see. Magic H/W List

I'm not sure if this is related to the web server or not but I've got a couple issues today and thought I'd throw them out there.1) I didn't get any email notification when I received PMs yesterday. I logged onto MOTL this morning and noticed I had PMs but went to my email and didn't see the notification that usually goes out. I checked through the spam folder as well. 2) Probably minor, but I no longer have any trade matches and I had about 60 or so yesterday.

Wanted to update instead of editing my post, the trade matcher seems to be working for me again as I have matches, but I'm still not getting email notifications on PMs.

I am also no longer receiving email notifications for posts in my active threads. I've double-checked the relevant settings and things appear to be normal.Edit: It also appears that I don't receive ref check emails, either.

Hi,Gunslinga said this was the place to voice my problem. It seems there is something wrong witht he MOTL refcheck system. I recently added four new refs, and none have responded. I chatted with someone who said he never received an e-mail, and though he added me as a ref today, I didn't receive a refcheck for him either (and I checked the junkmail just to be sure). Any idea as to why this is happening or when it will be fixed? Thanks, Monique

I'm also having issues with email notifications. I used to get them instantly but now they seem to be running a few days behind. I just received the notification today for pm's and posts on the 25th.Thanks!

I'm pretty sure that whatever was holding them up just go cleared, considering that in just a few short minutes I received notifications regarding posts that have been made for the past few days all at once. I suspect future notifications will be prompt. __________________ There's no need to fear, UNDERDOG is here! All your Gruul Nodorogs are belong to me. Trade them to me, please!
